Ten years later...

"Aiko! Get up or you'll be late for school!" Aiko's dad called out.

"I'm up!" Aiko groaned, rolling out of bed. 

She got dressed into her uniform for school, brushed her teeth and her long, black hair, and walked downstairs. "Sup lazybones," Haruki greeted from the couch, sitting beside Aiko's mom. 

Aiko rolled her eyes and went into the kitchen where her dad was making breakfast. "Good morning," Aiko said, sitting down at the kitchen counter.

"Morning sweetheart," her dad said as he set a plate of eggs and toast in front of Aiko.

"Thank you for the food," Aiko muttered as she wolfed down the food.

"So Aiko, have you considered a high school to apply to? You're about 6 months away from graduating middle school," her dad asked.

Aiko nodded.

"Haru! Please train me to be a hero! I wanna go to UA just like you and All Might did!"

"Where are you thinking?" he asked.

Aiko hesitated for a moment before replying, "UA. Since he was a student there, I asked Haru to start training me about two years ago."

Her dad's eyes widened a bit, "Wow, well I hope that it works out, I mean you know how small their acceptance rate is. You should apply to a couple back-ups just in case. You should also ask your cousin for some help since he goes there too."

"Already ten steps ahead of you. But thank you," Aiko said sweetly before getting up and saying, "Well, I gotta get to school. I love you."

"I love you too," he said.

"Love you mom!" Aiko called out.

"Love you too sweetie!" 

Haruki got up and followed Aiko to school, "So what kind of training are we doing later?" Aiko asked.

"It's a surprise, you gotta keep your body guessing!" Haruki joked.

Aiko rolled her eyes and got on the train. "Ugh, she's here," Haru remarked.

Aiko looked around and noticed one of her old friends, Maru Ishida. She's one of the few who, ever since learning Aiko's quirk, has made it her duty to make Aiko's life a living Hell. Aiko hid her face in her long black hair and turned away, getting off the train and walking to the school. 

Later that day, Aiko and Haru were going to lunch when they saw a few classmates bullying a boy who can turn leaves into money. Aiko went to help, but then saw a girl approach them. That girl was Mina Ashido, Maru Ishida's best friend. Aiko sighed and walked away, figuring that it wasn't worth the confrontation. Now, has Ashido ever been outright mean to Aiko or like sought her out? No, but Ishida constantly spreads rumors about Aiko, and Aiko knows that Ashido lives on the rumor train and would spread them like a wildfire in dry grass. Aiko began twiddling her fingers, but after a few moments, Aiko hit a hard surface and fell to the ground, landing straight on her ass. "Oh, I'm sorry!" a male voice said, kneeling down to Aiko's level. 

Aiko looked up and saw a boy she'd never really interacted with or even seen before. He had black, spiky hair, red eyes, and a small scar above his right eye. "It's ok, I should've been watching where I was going," Aiko said quietly, quickly getting up.

"I haven't really seen you around, what's your name? I'm Eijiro Kirishima!" the boy asked enthusiastically.

Aiko froze. Even if he'd never seen her face, there's no way he hasn't heard the rumors about her. Aiko looked away and saw Haru looking at her. "You need to at least try. He seems nice, maybe he won't be as judgy!" Haru encouraged.
