Chapter 14: Closure

The boys stared at their possessed companion, unsure of what to do. A snarl escaped her throat, causing the boys to flinch in fear. She then ran at them, her limbs bent in odd positions, and tried to strike. However, thanks to the injuries to Aiko's body, the spirit possessing her wasn't able to move fast enough to strike the boys, who quickly dodged. "This is all my fault..." Iida muttered, "I'm sorry Gessei!"

Midoriya grit his teeth and yelled, "We have to bring her back!"

"How?!" Iida exclaimed. 

"I don't know... but there has to be a way!" Midoriya admitted.

Todoroki growled and thought, 'I have to help her!' He then ran forward, grabbed her wrist, and yelled, "Gessei, I know you can hear me!"

She snarled and scratched at him, but he didn't let go. "Gessei stop it!" he demanded.

She continued to snarl, her sickeningly white eyes frightening the normally stoic boy along with the two boys who watched this exchange. Memories of the time that he'd spent with Aiko filled Todoroki's mind, and he felt a twinge of pain in his heart at the idea that he'd never get to see those joyful, icy blue eyes again. Todoroki grabbed both of her shoulders, more gently this time, looked her straight in the eyes, and said, "Gessei... please come back... I want you to be my friend..."

The body stopped twitching and Todoroki watched as the white faded away from Aiko's eyes, returning them to their normal blue before she passed out, falling into his chest. He caught her and sighed in relief as he picked her up bridal style. "What happened?" Iida asked.

"I think she got possessed by something bad..." Midoriya explained.

Native picked up Midoriya, whose legs were injured, as they walked out of the alley. Midoriya was kicked by his mentor as Nymph ran around the corner. "Spectre!" she exclaimed, "What happened?!"

"Stain..." Todoroki said, "We also think she got possessed by something bad..."

Aiko then began to stir in Todoroki's arms, but their attention was ripped from that when Midoriya was pulled into the sky. "Midoriya!" Todoroki and Iida exclaimed as Aiko opened her eyes.

She watched as Stain jumped up and stabbed the nomu carrying Midoriya in its brain and she watched as several spirits left the body. One in particular stuck out to her. A boy, a rather young boy, with a buzzcut and red wings. He was staring at Midoriya, confused and scared. After Stain was knocked out, the spirit asked, "Deku?"

Aiko gasped. "W-wait... that spirit..." she whispered, catching the spirit's attention.

"Gessei! You're awake!" Iida and Todoroki exclaimed.

She was rushed to the hospital and passed out along the way, but Haru watched as the spirit stayed close to her and Midoriya.

Aiko awoke to hear the end of a conversation. She opened her eyes and saw two police officers in the room, one of them bowing. "You could've just started with that..." Todoroki grimaced.

"What's happening?" Aiko asked.

"Gessei, you're awake!" Iida exclaimed.

"I was just explaining that your actions were illegal as you don't have your licenses and that, if word got out, you'd have to be punished. So, we're going to say that Endeavor is the one who took out Stain. I'm sure you'll agree that this was the correct choice," the police chief said before leaving the room.

Aiko nodded and looked around, gasping when she saw the spirit again. He couldn't have been much older than ten. "Um... hello," Aiko said.

The spirit turned toward her as the three boys watched her curiously. "What's happening? Why is Deku so big...? Why won't he answer me?!" the spirit asked.
