Aiko read her phone and saw that she was spammed with texts, mainly from Mina, who was both congratulating her and worrying about her. However, one specific text caught her eye.

Bakugo

Text me when you're up, Ghost Face.

Aiko smiled to herself and replied.

Hey, I'm up

Almost instantly, he replied.

You fucking weakling, how did you lose against Icy-Hot???

I know... I'll do better next time

However, you did kick some serious ass during your fight,
so good job, ig

Thanks Bakugo. You did really good in the fights I saw.

THAT'S BECAUSE I'M THE BEST!

Aiko smiled to herself and answered all of Mina's texts before sighing and drifting off to sleep.

After the next few days passed and the other years did their Sports Festivals, it was time to go back to class. Aiko walked into the classroom rather early that day and noticed Todoroki in the corner of the room. "Hey... good fight the other day," Aiko greeted.

Todoroki's eyes snapped toward her, his expression softening for a moment before he nodded. "You too. I underestimated you, and I apologize for that. You were actually a very formidable and powerful opponent."

Aiko's eyes widened and her jaw slacked. 'One of the strongest people in class... considers me to be powerful?' "I told you that you did good," Haru said smugly.

Aiko's heart flooded with emotion and tears welled in her eyes. "Did I say something wrong?" Todoroki asked, concerned.

Aiko shook her head, "No, I just... I really appreciate that you said that..."

Todoroki shrugged, "It's true. Why would I say otherwise?"

"Because I lost..." Aiko admitted.

"You put up a very good fight though. I passed out almost instantly after you did," Todoroki remarked, "I also have been training for a very long time."

Aiko's mind went back to his conversation with Midoriya. Her expression softened and sadness flooded her emotions. 'I can't tell him that I know... that would make him upset... but he shouldn't be all alone...' "Todoroki...?" Aiko said, catching the boy's attention, "I just wanted to let you know that I'd like to be friends with you. I know that it sounds weird out of nowhere... but if you ever need a friend to talk to, I'll be there."

Todoroki's eyes widened in surprise before he remembered the conversation he had with his mother the other day. "Are you making any friends, Shoto?"

"No, they're a distraction."

"Shoto... friends are an amazing thing that you shouldn't take for granted. They'll be there to help you when you need it, to make you smile when you're upset. Life isn't worth living if you don't have friends to help you along the way."

Todoroki nodded as more people entered the classroom. Aiko sat down in her seat and began talking with Kirishima and Kaminari, who was handing the girls brownies as apart of their deal, but Todoroki continued to watch her curiously. 'She reminds me a lot of you, mom...' he thought to himself before his thoughts were interrupted by the beginning of class. "It's good to see you out of the bandages, Aizawa," Tsu remarked.
