Two weeks flew by in a flash. Before Aiko knew it, it was already the day before the Sports Festival. So, here she was training with Bakugo one last time. The improvement in Aiko's skills was undeniable. She was faster, lighter on her feet, more strategic, more willing to adapt to a situation, and she knew how to use her small size against an opponent bigger than her. Bakugo also started improving as he was getting practice against a small, agile opponent.
Bakugo growled as he wiped the sweat off his brow. He stared at Aiko, who was on the ground after losing yet another match. He would never admit it to her, but she almost won that time. She was getting good. "One more," Bakugo growled.
Aiko looked up at him and nodded, picking herself up. Haru was watching on the sidelines, making notes on what he should work on with Aiko in their free time. They each took their stances and wordlessly nodded to start. Aiko made the first move, running toward him.
She feigned the punch and landed a kick to his abdomen. He grunted and grabbed her leg, throwing her aside. She quickly got up and ran back at him, making note of the smirk on his face. He was enjoying the fight, and to Aiko's surprise, so was she. Bakugo threw a right hook and Aiko barely ducked in time to avoid the hit, grabbing his legs, forcing his knees to bend and throwing herself into his abdomen, tackling him to the ground. She grabbed at his arms to try to pin him, but he quickly moved out of her grasp and wrapped his legs around her waist, instantly maneuvering so that she was the one being pinned. Aiko struggled to get out of Bakugo's grasp, but it was useless. Bakugo smirked and said, "I win."
"Yeah yeah, now get off of me," Aiko replied, chuckling slightly.
He did as she said and grabbed his bottle of water. "Damn Aiko! You did so good that time!" Haru exclaimed.
"Thanks Haru," Aiko said, grabbing her own water bottle.
The trio sat in silence as the living pair drank from their water. Aiko was exhausted, and while he wouldn't admit it, so was Bakugo. Aiko then noticed the streetlights around the park turning on and the sunlight around them quickly fading, so she grabbed her phone. "Holy shit, it's already 8?" Aiko asked.
"What?" Bakugo growled, pulling out his own phone before muttering, "Shit..."
"I gotta get home, it's getting dark and it's a far walk from here..." Aiko said, packing up her things, cursing herself for not keeping track of time the one time that they were training closer to Bakugo's house instead of hers.
"Oh hell no, bitch you are not walking home alone this late!" Haru exclaimed.
"I won't be alone, I have you," Aiko retorted.
"And nobody can see me! I don't want anybody to even think that you're alone because then they'll try to rob, kidnap, or even assault you, dumbass!" Haru yelled.
"Well then what do you want me to do, genius?" Aiko asked, frustrated.
Haru sighed and said, "Look, maybe you can call your parents to have them pick you up."
Aiko sighed and cursed under her breath. "Bakugo... do you mind waiting here until my parents come pick me up?"
Bakugo scoffed, "Fuck no."
A growl from Haru was heard, even for Bakugo. Bakugo groaned and said, "But... you can come to my house to wait..."
Aiko sighed in relief and said, "Thanks."
"Whatever. Don't tell anybody about this. Next thing I know Shitty Hair, Dunce Face, and Racoon Eyes will start asking to come to my house," Bakugo growled.
Aiko nodded and walked beside him as he led her to his house. Aiko then pulled out her phone and dialed her mom's number.
"Aiko? Where are you sweetie? It's late."
