For the next few weeks, Aiko and Todoroki studied together once a week after school. Aiko also continued her sparring lessons with Bakugo every other day, Kirishima occasionally tagging along.
By the time finals came, Aiko actually felt good about her abilities. Before the written tests, Aizawa pulled Aiko aside and said, "Haru is not allowed to be in the room. He could easily help you cheat, and I'm not about to let that happen. Please be responsible, I don't feel like using my quirk on you nonstop for the next two days."
"I understand, sir," Aiko said before taking her seat.
Haru took the next two days to hang around his sister or Aiko's mom and her friends, desperate for the juicy gossip. After the days of written testing, Aiko felt confident about how she did. Now it was the practical. Aiko and her classmates were standing in front of all of their teachers, which made them all nervous. 'I have a feeling it's not robots like Mina and Kaminari think...' Aiko thought to herself.
Nezu then popped out of Aizawa's scarf and explained that with recent events, they'd decided to change the exam format. Aizawa then said, "Todoroki, Yaoyorozu, you're up against me."
After a moment he then said, "Midoriya, Bakugo, and Gessei..."
"Wait, all three of us? Isn't that unfa-" Aiko started, but was interrupted by a familiar, hearty laugh.
Midoriya, Bakugo, and Aiko's hearts all sank to their stomachs as All Might, their idol, jumped down in front of them and said, "You'll be fighting me."
Days earlier...
"There's an uneven number in the class, one of the groups will have to have three," Aizawa stated.
"That's hardly fair!" Vlad King exclaimed.
"Not if we put them against All Might," Nezu said, "He's the number one hero for a reason, his skill will balance out their advantage."
The staff agreed, and Midnight asked, "Who will fight him?"
"I had an idea for this one, Midoriya and Bakugo. The two work terrible together, maybe it will give them the chance to learn some teamwork," Aizawa explained.
"And the third?" All Might asked.
"We were considering Gessei. She's powerful and has a good relationship with both boys, especially Bakugo. We're thinking that she might be the glue that will hold the boys together and hopefully teach them teamwork," Nezu explained.
Present day...
"Oh, and Gessei," Aizawa stated, "Same rules as the Sports Festival. You can use Haru's energy and quirk now that you can independently use it, but he can not actively make any move to help you. Got it?"
Aiko nodded and began flickering in fear, overthinking everything about her upcoming fight. 'He's the number one hero... and Bakugo and Midoriya are the worst possible pairing when it comes to teamwork! What am I gonna do?!'
"Ghost Face."
Aiko flinched and turned around to see Bakugo. "Y-yeah?" she asked, cursing herself for stuttering.
"Stop panicking. We're gonna kick his ass," he said before walking away.
"W-wait! What about a strategy?!" Aiko called after him, but he simply brushed her off and left her alone.
"Asshole," Haru growled.
Aiko rested her head in her palms and whispered, "What am I gonna do...?"
"G-Gessei...?" Midoriya asked.
She turned around and said, "Y-yeah?"
"Um... should we come up with a strategy?" he asked.
Aiko nodded and followed him to the observation room that Recovery Girl had set up, luckily finding it empty. They sat in the corner and Midoriya said, "Ok... now, the way that we're gonna pass is going to have to be by escape... there's no way we can beat All Might in a fight."
