28- Running out of Time

You let your stand dissolve into the air, you had a bad feeling still, your stand was edging your emotions to come out again. You scouted your surroundings again, just a dead D'Arby, a crying Polnareff, and an unfazed Iggy. It hit you, "Where's Jotaro?". You sprinted out of that large room, yelling like a fool to find your protector.

Upon finding him, he was hovering over a vampire, Joseph and Kakyoin standing beside him. You run to Jotaro and almost tackle him to the ground, knocking his hat off in the process. "I defeated him, but-" Your emotions come flooding back, but this was no time to hinder over death. Jotaro could sense the grief you were feeling, he hugged you briefly. "Are you hurt?" He whispered, the grabbing his hat to put back on. "I'm fine.. Are you or the others hurt?"

He shook his head, "We'll be alright-" Joseph interrupted, "Where's Avdol, Polnareff, and Iggy?" Your face fell, with a clear upset expression. "I.. I left them." You stood up, "I didn't mean too, I wasn't thinking after I killed D'Arby. I needed to find Jotaro and Avdol- he... he's.." Jotaro covered your mouth, they all knew immediately. "It's fine, let's find them then."

After Jotaro bagged the vampire, named Nukesaku, you four were off looking for the others. Jotaro stopped dead in his tracks, he put a protective hand over you as he did. Confused, you grab his arm and ask what was going on, he didn't answer but he busted through a wall. Revealing Polnareff and DIO, the latter retreating in the shadows. "Y/N! Thank god you're safe.. Polnareff shouted, trying to make his way to you, but Jotaro stopping him. "We can save the formalities for later, Nukesaku, lead us to DIO."

He obliges to Jotaro and leads them to a room with a coffin in the center. He slowly opened the coffin, revealing a diced in pieces version of himself. Jotaro dropped the bag and picked you up to jump through the nearest window, the rest following suit. He protected your head but you managed to peak out, seeing no sun, but darkness. Polnareff stayed hidden with you and Jotaro, not knowing where Joseph and Kakyoin went. "Why did you-"

"DIO's here."

Your heart seemed to stop as you heard his name, he's here? How? He just retreated? Again, confused, you had to wait for the action to happen. Which happened very shortly after you landed to the ground, DIO revealed himself and pursued Kakyoin and Joseph, you tried to go after them but Jotaro held you back. "Not yet." You sort of understood why he let them fight alone, you think it was to watch for DIO's power. Eventually, they grew out of vision range, "Jotaro, they could be hurt or worse.." You tried to get up again, but this time he let you.

"You listen to me.. find Kakyoin and stay with him, when you find him, do not come out of hiding." His voice was stern and low, he doesn't want to lose you. You hugged him and ventured off to find Kakyoin. "Polnareff, you're too injured to fight, stay here and we'll come get you when its over." Polnareff did nothing but agree to him, he laid down and stayed in hiding.

You ran as fast as you could to find Kakyoin, you looked up to see Hierophant Green stabbed into a large clock-building, but no Kakyoin. You managed to get yourself up to the clock tower, you found Kakyoin.. He had a watermelon sized hole in his chest, he laid there, already out of suffering. You rushed to his side, but knew there was nothing you could do to save him. Slowly sitting beside him you saw Joseph hopping on rooftops, but soon to be stabbed in the throat by a knife DIO had. You held Kakyoins hand, you've grown to love these people, only to watch them die or be almost at the brink of death. It was sickening.

DIO spotted you from afar and sped to you, landing himself at a few foot distance. "My my, you must be the infamous Y/n, I keep hearing about... Why are you sitting with this slime? Why not come with me?" He extended his hand, expecting for you to take it.

"Why would I? You just killed my friend and hurt my grandfather.. Go to hell.." You tried to get further away from him but you were cornered to a wall. "Fiesty. I like it." He stepped to you and reached for your arm. You snatched it away, "Get away from me, you devil."

It was taking Jotaro some time to find you, when he found Joseph on the floor, almost dead, he pointed you out. "She's up- there.." He weakly pointed to the clock tower. Jotaro hurriedly made his way to you, but it was too late.

DIO had you in his grasps, drinking your blood from your neck. You, near lifelessly, reached out for Jotaro, your hand then retreating to your side, hanging. Jotaro was in shock, he was watching the love of his life be drained by his enemy.

He couldn't let this curly vampire murder his mother and his lover. Rage boiled in his veins, he summoned Star Platinum and immediately attacked DIO. He was trying to be careful enough to not injure you in the process, but DIO was using you as a shield.

"Try again Joestar." He mockingly said, wailing your semi-lifeless body around. DIO then summoned his stand, The World, and used his stands power. You couldn't move, frozen in the air.

He stopped time.

DIO threw you in the air before he stopped time, you were almost at your end. You watched Jotaro and DIO fight, their stands moving at an insane speed. Back and forth pummels and punches being passed out, you closed your eyes as DIO unpaused time. You were falling off the clock tower.

A weak smile spread across your face as you continued to fall, this was your end.
