It was a small bit of relief to be back at college, and I honestly just wanted to get right back into Double As which hadn't been updated for the past week. I had been busy catching up with Trent and Jake and even volunteering some of my time where their boss was just as sweet as they said she was.
Porsche wasn't in when I got to the room after being dropped off by T and J, Megan and Liz had resorted to being taken up by Dad, I think just to spite me.
But my day was made slightly better when Alice came by.
"Hey, I need help. And please don't think it's stupid," she said.
I took her by the wrist, gently pulling her inside and shutting the door. "Did you kill someone and leave the body in the bathroom down the hall?"
She laughed. "No, but thanks, I do feel better. The thing is....have you ever read the book Before I Fall?"
"No but I've heard of it, and obviously seen the movie."
"The thing is, I need to summarise these chapters and I just- the stupid thing is that I know how to read but I just can't focus, and Porsche's out tonight and I wanted to know if you'd help me."
I couldn't resist her sad face, it was worse than Trent and Jake hanging up on me with their equally sad puppy dog eyes.
"Okay, fine."
"Yay! Thank you."
She hugged me tightly. And I forgot how to function for a second.
We got started, I found the story easy to understand; my knowledge of the movie helped, if I'm honest.
But I have to admit; I never slept well on my week off, I was getting tired as we worked. Alice was beginning to doze off, sprawled out on my bed where she had been sitting previously.
I ended up just abandoning the book entirely and lying down next to her.
"Tired?" Alice asked, I could hear the smirk in her voice.
"Shut up," I replied, and she laughed.
"You're so cute."
"Nuh uh, you're cuter."
She giggled. "No wonder Porsche keeps trying to push us together."
"I mean....I do really like you."
"Yeah....I like you too."
We faced each other, and our faces moved closer, and I couldn't even change my mind before we kissed.
I didn't think of what Porsche would say if she was there, I didn't think of what Trent and Jake would say when I would tell him, I didn't think about how Megan would most likely disapprove.
All I could think about was how amazing it was, how right it felt.
We pulled away, and I snuggled against her. She put her arm round me, and I fell asleep.
