Aaron – A couple months later (3 years ago)

I just left my parents' house and headed back to my place.

I love spending Christmas at my parents' house. It is always nice to see both of them obsess over each other, even though the PDA is disgusting. I don't like when they stick their tongues in each other's throats, but I love seeing how in love they still are. It is as if they fell in love yesterday.

Also, my abuela, uncle and cousins were there, singing old Spanish songs with some English Christmas songs.

They sounded like the worst remix ever, but it made us all laugh so hard. We ate abuela's Tapas, empanadas, roasted meat, and the only dessert I love, my favorite: churros with some ice cream.

I would love to have someone with me during Christmas, but my parents want me to get them a love match into the house. Ha. That is not happening any time soon.

First thing after new years we are going back to training. This is my year, first year as captain, and I need to focus on getting us through the pool phase.

I take a left to get to my street, but I find myself surrounded by paparazzi. They are taking pictures at the speed of light and calling out for me to slide my window down.

They have blocked the whole street I live in. I can't get to my house. I put my car in reverse and made a U-turn. I hope they haven't found the secret street leading to the back of my house.

I drive slowly into the street first and when nobody is there, I catch my breath. They are too much, especially these days when our Coach announced my captaincy before Christmas vacation.

As I head into my street, a big SUV drives straight into my car. It came out of nowhere. I didn't see that car, how couldn't I see that car.

I find myself losing control of the car and it goes off the road into circles.

All air leaves my lungs, I feel frightened and helpless as I pray for the car to just stop moving. Then it does.

My car crashes into a tree. My airbags come out but I still hit the side of my head. I feel something pressuring my legs and I don't know where the loud, pitchy sound is coming from.

I can't move. I can't find my seat belt. I can't open my eyes. I don't want it to be a tragic story. I don't want to die tonight. I have to do something, I have to get out. I start panicking and breaking down until I hear him.

"Diaz! Open your eyes for me man!"

"Come one, just a couple of more pictures."

"You are such a great player, man. The best setter in the whole! You'll get the MVP, I know it"

"Now, now, Diaz, open your fucking eyes for me, huh. I didn't crash my car into you and hurt my wrist for nothing."

"I need your pictures, I need your face, your eyes, man"

I open my eyes and look at him, everything starting to get quiet now. The bastard is taking pictures of me, like this. The mad paparazzi crashed into me for content.

"I don't..." I try to speak but I can't. My mouth fills with the coppery taste of blood.

"C...call..." I want to speak, I want to kill that man. I want help, but I can't do anything.

My eyes start to close again but I try to fight and not lose consciousness.

My head hurts; the drumming and alarming sounds clash around my brain and the blood gushing out from my head starts running down my neck. The warm blood on my cool skin makes me shiver.

I can see some shattered glass sticking out of my arms and thighs, but I can't feel any pain.

All I can feel is my pounding heart screaming for help and fearing my death.

I keep repeating in my head, "I don't want to die. I don't want to die."

But it felt like it was too late.

I wanted anyone to save me, call 911, or do anything! But nothing came, no one helped.

I kept begging for my life and refusing to die, but my body already decided to give up. I was too weak. Too tired and I closed my eyes to rest.

The last thing I saw was his revolting smile and the light of his camera.I knew that all my obsessive dreams about a certain doctor will change into nightmares for this disgusting creature.
