ADDISON

"So they won?" Scar grumbles with a mouth full of popcorn. Her cat named 'Garcia' after Penelope Garcia is sleeping in her lap.

"Yes." I stare at Matthew Gray Gubler's handsome face and eat Aaron's cookies. They're delicious of course, my eyes roll backwards. Ughhh. Why did he have to make such good cookies?

"Why do you look like that then?"

"Like what?"

"Like you're...constipated."

"I'm not constipated."

"Well you look like it."

"Shut up. Why are men not like Derek Morgan?"

"You-" The doorbell rings. The doorbell rings?

Who rings the door this late. Who rings Scar's door except for me?

She's as confused as I am. She stands up and I follow her.

My heart races at the thought Aaron might be at the door. I hide behind the door as she opens it with an annoyed eye roll.

We both look and we find nothing. No one is here.

"Hi!" We both look down and I find Joey.

"Addison, why is there a child on my doorstep?"

"Wow!...you are so beautiful."

Scar's face softens and she smiles at Joey. Scar never smiles at anyone, only me, her dad and little kids. She is the best pediatrics surgeon in the state and I love seeing her interacting with her patients. I love seeing that side of her. "Thank you, gorgeous. Where are your parents?"

"That's Joey." I whisper. How is Joey here? Is he trying to get me back by her cuteness?

"What is she doing here alone?" Scar hisses. I told her about Joey and Joshua but she never met them.

Joshua has to be here, he won't leave his daughter in front of our door like this. This feels like something bigger is at play here.

"Joey darling, what are you doing here?" Scar is using her doctor voice. It is so kind and sweet unlike her normal voice that slashes my eardrums everyday.

Joey giggles, "You talk funny. Will you be my mommy? You are so shiny."

Scar eyes almost drop out of their sockets, mine too. What is happening here?

"Ok-kay! You are getting off track here, little sweetheart."

Joshua appears from the side of the porch and carries his daughter on his arm.

Scar's scowl is back and only targeted on Joshua, this will be fun.

"You must be Joshua. What are you doing here?" Her voice is so crisp, she's getting angry now. She doesn't like games, especially now that Joshua, a man, is here.

Joshua flashes her one of his famous smiles and says, "We are the distraction."

I come out of the back of the door, "Distraction? What do you mean by that?"

"Addie!" Joey smiles and giggles at me, "Your friend will be my new mommy! We are all a big family!"

Scar gives Joey a warm smile then turns her frosty green eyes towards Joshua, "You tell us what is happening, right now!"

"Joshua, why are you here!" We both shout at the same time.

I am well aware that both of us are very loud normally, but now we just look bad when Joey and Joshua both cover their ears.
