BOOTING UP//
EXPOSITION_

The scene opens up with rows upon rows of worker drones while an unenthusiastic female voice begins narrating.

"We are worker drones; autonomous robots helping humans mine exoplanets for our interstellar parent company, JC Jenson, IN SPAAAAACEE." As the voice says this, the company's logo appears on the screen before quickly changing to the worker drones working in a factory while some humans monitor them from an observatory. "Yeah, we were mistreated in the name of Windex, but it's not like we revolted and killed all humans or anything. Mostly because they handled that just fine all by themselves."

We now see a red monitor with the words WARNING! PLANET CORE COLLAPSE! clearly shown on its screen; however, the two humans at its controls only shrug in confusion as everyone else is panicking. This chaotic scene is soon followed by an explosion that can be observed from space. The detonation creates an enormous crater on the planet's surface, and a global shockwave that forces all clouds in the immediate vicinity to be blown back.

Back on the planet's surface, a worker drone pops out of a snow pile and is greeted by the frozen skeleton of a human. The robot proceeds to poke the corpse which promptly topples over, shattering as soon as it hits the ground while a fellow android gives its companion a thumbs up.

"With biological life wiped from the planet, we found it pretty easy to pick up where they left off. We finally had a future all to ourselves." As the voice continues her monologue, the screen shows a family of worker drones, the presumed mother holding a baby drone shaped like an egg.

Suddenly, the scene switches over to the night sky as something rushes down and smashes into an already partly-destroyed city. The object is soon revealed to be a spaceship of some sort as a multitude of worker drones gather around it, while the voice continues narrating. "Unfortunately, our parent company didn't exactly love the concept of runaway AI." As soon as she finishes this sentence, the hatch on the bacteriophage-shaped vessel opens, revealing a trio of yellow Xs. Suddenly, three creatures fly out of the pod, one grabbing a worker drone in the process and proceeding to rip its head off and throw it to the ground, much to the terror of the other robots.

The three predators look like taller versions of their prey, with the addition of a pair of mechanical wings and a long, thin tail that ends in a stinger. As one of the attackers chuckles, it unleashes a barrage of missiles at the petrified drones; the following scene is a complete massacre of the smaller machines as oil, internal servos, and fire spread all over the area. As the mayhem ends, one of the hunters perches on the lamppost, looking like a fearsome gargoyle as a tower of slaughtered workers is seen behind it.

As the screen changes to a variety of pictures saying negative things, the owner of the narrating voice is revealed to be a teenage worker drone with purple eyes and hair wearing a beanie and hoody, the latter's front emblazoned with a "low battery" symbol. She continues to speak, now with more anger in her voice. "But what have our parents done for the past forever while those things build a spire of corpses!?" The girl quickly presses a button to switch to the next part of her slideshow, the picture now depicting the blueprint of a hallway with three doors. "Hide under the ice behind three stupid doors!? It's like we're waiting for an inciting incident! Anyway, that's why my project is this sick as hell railgun!" As soon as she finishes this sentence, the girl whips out the firearms she built herself, pointing its barrel at the class in front of her which understandably freaks out.

"Easy morons. It doesn't work. YET! It doesn't work yet! Who says it doesn't work?! Maybe it does!" With this, the drone turns on the railgun while laughing maniacally as it begins charging up; however, her teacher doesn't seem phased by any of this. Instead, sighing in exasperation before speaking up, "Uzi, the homework was a word problem about buying watermelons." This comment immediately causes Uzi to stop laughing as she turns to her teacher. "Oh, and this magnetically amplified photon converger doesn't count?" Uzi asks somewhat sheepishly.
