Episode 6 : Dead End Part 5

The lights flicker inside Madeleine's base as both she and (Y/N) quickly look around, the former grabbing her creator's crossbow and loading it with a bolt. Backing into the center of the room and nearly knocking over the strange mirror contraption, the ravager drone looks at the worker drone before calling out, "What the heck was that?!"

Not even turning to look at him, Madeleine hides in a corner before pointing at him, "[Get into that corner and don't move; just tell me what you see in the mirrors.]" Staring at her for a moment, (Y/N) backs into position and waits for her following instructions.

After a moment of staying completely still, Madeleine notices some movement coming from one of the vents before signaling (Y/N) to approach, resulting in the duo sitting on either side of the tunnel. Both watching the mirror carefully, they soon realize that whatever's inside the vents is coming straight at them.

Waving to the ravager drone, Madeleine motions to the ventilation shaft before making a throat-cutting gesture, clarifying what she wants them to do, to which he nods in response. Hearing the thing get closer, they both get ready to strike when suddenly (Y/N) sees the yellow lights and quickly grabs the crossbow with his tail just as the worker drone's about to fire and V's head pops out of the opening.

As the bolt shoots into the ceiling, Madeleine glares at (Y/N) and pulls the crossbow out of his tail, "[What are you doing?! I had that sentinel!]" Crossing his arms, the ravager drone is about to respond when V stands up with Uzi on her back and an arm as an assault rifle pointing right at the worker drone's head, "Why I ought..."

Before anything drastic can happen, the two females stare at each other in complete shock as silence fills the room for a second. As recognition dawns, the duo simultaneously shouts in confusion and steps back, "What are you doing here?!" Grabbing the barrel of the murder drone's gun, Madeleine gives her a slightly annoyed expression before answering, "[Same as you; trying to kill that thing. And where are your glasses?]" Looking away in embarrassment for a moment, V gives the worker drone a squinting glare before speaking, "That's not important!"

"[Maybe if you were wearing them, you would have seen the mirrors, and I wouldn't have risked taking your head off.]" This remark leads to V tossing the unconscious Uzi into (Y/N)'s arms before grabbing Madeleine by the collar of her jacket, "I don't know! You happy now?!" Suddenly, the murder drone feels something being placed on her face before her vision clears, revealing the worker drone's smirking expression in full detail, "[That's why you should always have a spare.]"

Scoffing, V pushes her away before going to take Uzi back, but stops upon seeing (Y/N) clearly for the first time; after a few seconds of examining him, she grunts, "Hun." She then takes the worker drone and walks away while grumbling, "Let's just find the others before those things do." Immediately, Madeleine launches her hand and pulls the disassembly drone back in, "[Wait, the sentinels are loose?]" Frustrated, the murder drone pulls herself away, her right eye twitching as she glares at her, "Yeah, and those things are running around everywhere."

Rubbing her forehead, Madeleine groans before speaking up, a serious look on her face, "[Ok; we need to get out of here, but everyone follows my words, got it?]" Wordlessly, (Y/N) and V look at each other before nodding to the worker drone.

In the meantime below the ventilation ducts, Tessa pokes N's face as he continues booting up, "Wakey wakey." Finally, the murder drone awakens and abruptly sits up in a panic, though the human just looks at him innocently as she leans over the gurney he's been placed on, "Don't say I never did anything for you." However, this comment quickly deserves an annoyed response from Kira as she looks at the organic being, "You didn't do anything; I was the one who had to carry him because of your injury!"
