Being the daughter of Tommy Shelby meant that YN grew up with horses and learning how to ride. But what no one expected was for YN to become afraid of them because she fell off a horse, breaking her arm. Now she's 10 years old and Tommy has been trying to get his daughter to find her love of horses once again. Not only is he trying to get YN to over come her fear of riding but he's also trying to overcome his own fear about his daughter getting hurt, this has all been because his wife, Lizzie had spoken to him about his fear "What do you say YN, shall we go down to Charlie's yard?" "No thanks dad" YN says reading her book "You used to love riding the horses" "When I was 3. Now I love reading" "YN your dad is trying here. Why don't you just go down. You don't have to sit on one" Lizzie YN's step mum says "What if one of them kicks me? Or bites me?" "I'll make sure they won't" Tommy tells his daughter "the only reason you were bucked off when you were 7 was because the horse got spooked" "I'm not riding a horse" "That's fine. You can't just watch them in the field" finally YN reluctantly agrees getting on her wellies and coat on.
Arriving at the yard, YN nervously walks passed the horses in their stables "I want to show you something" Tommy tells his daughter "you remember princess?" YN nods her head "well come and see her" "But dad..." "No buts. Princess wasn't the horse that threw you off" "I'm not riding" "Didn't say you were" YN follows her dad to the stable where the horse is, but she's not alone. Beside her is a little foal that looks almost identical to her, except for the black socks on her 2 front legs "she was born yesterday" Tommy says quietly. Princess trots over to Tommy for him to pet her snout while the foal goes over to YN. Tommy opens up the stable and the foal nudges YN's hand. Shaking, YN lifts her hand up and pets the foals snout "she still needs a name" tommy tells his daughter "Maybe Pearl" "Pearl it is then. And she's yours if you want her" "Really?" "Really. I thought having a bond with your horse from a foal would help your fear" YN looks from her father to the foal which is now hers "what do you think?" "She's very cute" "Are you afraid of her?" "No. She's only a baby" "Soo you'll be able to train her" "Will you help me?" "Of course" Tommy smiles at his daughter.
