Cina and Santana take turns tossing a baseball back and forth while laying on the couch. It's been a pretty rainy and windy day. It's the first day of fall so the weather didn't disappoint.

Cina: What do you think is wrong with her?

Santana shrugs as she catches the ball.

Santana: Depression? Anxiety?
Cina: I thought writing helped her through all of that?

They continue to pass the ball talking about their monsta and kink story days.

Cina: She was so happy then. That's when she found her spark, y'know?
Santana: Sparks die out but they also comeback stronger.
Cina: So when is she coming back?

Santana didn't have the answer for that, though she wish she did.

Santana: All I can say is she's taking time to heal. Maybe she feels like her readers deserve good writing and not some half-assed chapter she typed up on her fifteen minute break.
Cina: That's fair.

Cina sighs sitting up to face her best-friend.

Cina: I wonder if she misses her old self.
Santana: Everyone does for a moment. But I guess it's important to realize that you may like your newer version better.
Cina: Even if it's a sad sabotaging self?
Santana: That's what people misconstrued. That isn't you, your feelings aren't you.
Cina: Meaning?

Santana smiles.

Santana: Feelings are just that, they don't define you. Yeah sometimes you're sad but that doesn't make you a sad person. You're just sad at that moment. Same with being happy, even a serial killer gets happy.
Cina: What if it's a long moment?
Santana: Then that's what it is, but nothing lasts forever.

The two girls make some tea before sitting out on Cina's porch swing. They take in the cool crisp breeze and beautiful leaves dancing in the wind.

The colors of brown, yellow, and burgundy swirl around making a fall rainbow.

Calm simple things like that reminds the writer that life is worth living, life is worth trying.

Cina: Maybe that medical program is whooping her ass.
Santana: Oh for sure.
Cina: I know the feeling.
Santana: But you also know the feeling of finishing, walking across that stage. She will too!
Cina: Every tear made a path I suppose, what about the readers?

Santana hums.

Santana: She loves them all. They've all entertained her with her comments, and some even touched her heart.
Cina: Aren't they sick of waiting?
Santana: Without a doubt, who wouldn't be? But I'm sure they know great things take time. It's like when you're favorite anime isn't released until a year later, but it's always worth the wait.

Cina nods, taking a sip of tea.

Cina: She could be apart of that writer's strike.
Santana: You are so unserious.

They laugh.

Cina: So if you were Rocky, what would you say?
Santana: I'll be home soon.
