After finishing his class, Xavian went straight to his part-time job. He was surprised to see Lance there, surrounded by plates of sweets.
"Xavian!" Lance waved with a giddy smile as he greeted Xavian.
Xavian smiled and waved back at him before heading straight to the staff room to change into his uniform.
"Wow, Xavian, your friend could finish all of that." Xavain's coworker looked baffled as he saw Lance eat all the food. Empty plates stacked beside him as he finished another dessert.
Lance called Xavian to order another batch of desserts and drinks. "The food is really, really delicious! Especially the Mango ice cream!" He said as Lance secretly swooned at how handsome Xavian looked in his uniform.
Sometimes it made Lance wonder how many strangers had fallen in love with Xavian. Did they also feel nervous to say the right words and compliments that Xavian deserved? Where are they also unable to look away from Xavain's captivating eyes?
"I'm glad you like our food." Xavian snickered when he saw the mango ice cream stain the corner of Lance's lips.
Lance snapped out of his trance as Xavian handed him a tissue before taking out the menu. "Are you going to order again, or do you want the bill?"
"Hmm... I want to order some dessert for takeout." Lance hummed happily as he ordered another batch of food. "I'll take out eight leche flan, four boxes of polvoron, palabok, and a slice of egg pie."
"Anything else?"
Mischief shone in Lance's eyes. "Can I also take you out?"
Xavian slowly blinked as if he were registering what Lance said, he felt his heart do a little flip. "Huh? What?" His ears must be deceiving him.
Lance sighs dramatically. "Mission failed," he whispered under his breath as he slumped on the chair as if he were defeated.
He wanted to say a lot of things to Xavian, but Lance didn't know how, he kept holding back. He usually never hesitated, but Lance wanted to say the right words at the right time and moment...
The bell on the cafe rang, signaling a new customer. Xavian felt his body stiffen when he saw who had entered the cafe.
"Table for two." Javier looked directly into Xavian's eyes before he turned his gaze on the man beside him and kissed his cheek.
Xavian remained calm despite seeing Javier again, he already predicted that Javier would show up after what happened.
Javier is a prideful person, he wouldn't like it if things didn't go his way. That's why Xavian is aware that this meeting is not accidental or coincidental.
Xavian couldn't understand why Javier had to do this. What's the point? But Xavian knew that thinking about it was useless, even if Xavian figured out Javier's reason, it didn't solve anything.
Seeing Javier with another man didn't make Xavian hurt or jealous, like Javier would have liked it. He didn't feel bothered that Javier was in a new relationship.
What bothered Xavian was the vengeful look that is masked with Javier's forced sickly sweet smile as he looks at the man beside him. That look tells Xavian that he didn't approach that man out of love.
Did Javier have the same look when they first met? His loneliness made him so blind that he easily trusted Javier with all his heart.
How could he yearn for someone who doesn't do the same? Xavian was such a fool to offer his heart on a silver platter.
He had met Javier when Xavian had no one else, and at a time when he was vulnerable, perhaps he saw a semblance of solace and belonging. Xavian was blinded by Javier's light, not knowing it was fire that would consume and burn him until nothing was left.
