Nightmare was angry. He was Mad, and the whole Gang knew it.
They were watching him pace back and forth in the throne room as he scolded them, some cussing here and there.
It caused some very uneasy tension in the room as they knew Nightmare wanted to stab them right then, and there. Why was he so angry?
They were so close to taking Dream, a member of the Star sanses, with them, but they were ambushed by the extras of their team.
"You sack of idiots!"
Nightmare roared.
Cross flinched, but didn't break face what so ever.
"Boss, please, we didnt realize -"
Killer spoke, but that resulted in a tendril wrapping around his neck and lifting him in the air. He clawed at it desperately.
It caused everyone to step back.
"Don't. Interrupt me."
Nightmare bared his fangs and dropped Killer onto the floor.
Ok, now everyone was sweating bullets. Turning to Cross as if he could tame the Lord.
And Cross knew that was no way near possible. He merely shook his head at them.
Nightmare looked between all of them as Killer finally stood up and made his way towards the others in a frenzy.
Cross lowered his head as he walked up to all of them. Nightmare smirked at the Negativity emitted in the whole room.
"If this happens again.."
He eyed everyone up n' down until his gaze ended on Cross. Baring his fangs again.
"You won't recover from whatever I do to every single one of you."
Cross silently whined. Horror started picking the side of his shattered skull. Dust hid himself more into his hoodie. Killer lowered his head.
"Now leave!"

Cross immediately left the castle, he didn't teleport out of the realm but he did go into the forest, where he would usually go near a lake to calm down.
'Dammit..'
He thought as he leaned onto a tree.
'I didn't think he'd get this mad!'
Oh wait until Nightmare finds out he was the reason for Dreams escape.
He was lucky enough the others didn't care to rat him out.
Cross groaned into his hands.
Oh he'd be so dead..

Cross was sitting down, enjoying the peace and quiet it had become.
"You're still out here."
a deep voice startled him from his spot.
Quickly he got up to find Nightmare standing a few feet from him.
"My l-lord!" He stuttered out.
Nightmare merely hummed.
"How long are you planning to stay out here?"
"N-Not much longer."
Cross picked up his hoodie, which was left on the floor beside him.
Nightmare walked up to him as he did so.
"You're still fueling with Negativity Cross."
He cupped the smallers cheek and smirked.
"Did I scare you that bad?"
"I'm sorry Night, I-"
He was immediately cut off as the taller harshly grabbed his jaw, his smile faded.
"Sorry? Sorry for what?"
Cross grew anxious as the Lord spoke.
"Sorry for lying or sorry for letting Dream get away?"
Nightmare raised a brow.
Oh shit-
Cross' eyes widened.
"Night i-"
Once again, he was cut off as a tendril harshly pinned him against the nearest tree.
Cross gripped onto it as he tried to pry it from his neck.
Nightmare shook his head.
"Y'know out of everyone on this team."
He walked closer to Cross, the smaller being more scared than ever.
"I didn't expect you to betray my trust, my own Partner."
Cross stopped struggling as he heard the words coming from Nightmares mouth, those words sounded like venom.
"Partner..."
He managed to say, catching the tallers attention as he loosened the tendril around his neck enough to let Cross speak.
"You n-never thought of me as your partner.."
The smaller coughed.
Nightmare narrowed his eye.
"You talk to me about lying when you're the one whose lied all t-this time!"
Cross gritted his teeth as the tendril began to tighten itself again.
"......."
"I've given you a home, a purpose."
The Dark lord spoke.
"All for a small price.."
Cross couldn't breath, his head started to feel fuzzy as tears pricked his eyes.
"And you betrayed me just for that idiotic skeleton to have his way!?"
Nightmare raised his tone and dropped his supposed 'lover' onto the floor again.
Cross gasped, trying to regain his breath as he processed the others' words. A single tear fell down his face.
"I should kill you right here"
He snarled.
Cross felt his soul drop.
Raising his head to look at Nightmare, they made eye-contact and Cross saw nothing else in his singular eye but rage and disbelief.
"You speak about betrayal as if your the only one that's been betrayed.."
Cross' voice was barely a whisper.
The smaller placed a hand on his aching neck.
"Tell me.. was there ever a time where you genuinely wanted me?"
His voice remained a whisper.
Nightmare snarled but didn't respond.
"Did you mean it when you said you loved me.."
"........"
Cross sighed, attempting to raise himself to his feet, an arm pressed against the tree for support.
"We're in the same boat here, but not the same space, my Lord.."
Nightmares jaw tightened.
"I already knew you were lying to me since the beginning, so atleast it'll hurt alittle less if you finally get rid of me."
Cross finished speaking but he didn't move, almost as if he did then Nightmare would've pierced a tendril right through him.
The thought alone made him even more scared.
Nightmare frown twitched upward.
"You're smart, I'll give you that."
Cross stared at him unamused.
"But I suppose you're right, so I assume killing you is a but of a stretch, button."
Cross flinched at the nickname, which was what Nightmare called him during their moments..
The Lord walked up to Cross once more, cupping his cheek again.
The smaller kept his composure.
"I suppose I'll place you in the cell for tonight, and after that."
Nightmare whispered where his ear would be.
"We'll continue just as we were, my dear."
Cross' breath hitched as the taller place a gentle kiss on his cheek.
"Well what do you say, Button?"
Cross placed a hand on the Lords chest, putting some distance between them.
"Y-your not going to kill me...?"
Nightmare snickered.
"Not yet sweetheart, You still have much use to me"
The monochrome inhaled sharply.
Oh could this get any worse....
