Ariel's POV

Somewhere within the forest, in a large mansion.

~~~
My head hurt so badly, it felt like someone was pounding from the insides of my brain.
I peered from my side to see that I was in a luxurious room covered in gold and rose red muslin, decorated glistening silver embroidery, and Victorian patterns. Where was I?
With a wry smile, a man briskly walked into the room, "The little lamb is awake."
I turned to see the same vampire I shot in the head, his brown curls partially covering the wound by his temple, "Look at what you've done to my face," he growled.
"Frey, leave her alone," another vampire strolled into the room as she straightened her red dress and stroked her black hair. "She is Master Eugene's now."
Master Eugene's?
I looked around to find my pistol, but I didn't see it anywhere. How was I supposed to escape?
"You cannot escape," a low voice was heard and entered a man with strong chiseled features, hovering above the other two vampires. He scoffed.
It felt like he was staring into my soul. Can he read my mind?
"I can somewhat read your thoughts, but not all," he spoke.
Fantastic.
Just as I was about to sit up straight, I felt light-headed and fell back down to the bed, seeing stars and circles.
"You're still weak," a familiar voice tickled my ears. It was the vampire with glass blue eyes.
He motioned the others to leave the room with a raise of his hand. They left quickly. Frey was the last to leave, wryly smiling as he closed the door.
I stared at the blue eyed vampire. What was his name?... I forgot.
I could feel the blood from my head slowly come back.
The man held my wrist, checking the pulse. He mumbled, "should I give you more of my blood?"
I continued to stare at his beautiful eyes. "Who are you?" I asked.
He stared at me for a moment until he smiled, "My name is Eugene."
"Eugene..." I could feel my lips move by themselves.
For a moment, I was baffled by the whole situation. Then, I remembered what happened.
This monster. How could he? He turned me into a vampire.
I tried to grab hold of his collar but failed to do so since my arms felt weak.
I gritted my teeth. I didn't want to become a monster like them. Tears began to envelope on my eyes.
"I apologize," he said, "but you were about to die and I just..." His thumb wiped the tears off of my cheeks. "I couldn't leave you to your fate."
Who was this man? He looked at me pleadingly as if about to cry.
"May I have your name?" he asked as he held my hand gingerly.
I hesitated, "... El." I didn't want to give him my whole name. You can never trust vampires.
"El..." he whispered.
I couldn't help but stare at those beautiful light blue eyes framed by his pallid skin and dark hair.
Were vampires this polite? No... I've never seen a vampire as eloquent as this man. Most were known to be notorious for their malevolence and evil spirit. Why was this one so...
"You..." I murmured, "You have the same eyes as I do..." My eyes widened as I closed my mouth shut, wondering why I said that aloud.
Eugene smiled, "yes, it seems so." He laid my hand back down on the cushions, reaching for something in his navy blue cloak. His clothes were beautiful as his visage was. This man was just beautiful. What am I thinking?
"El," he placed a stone necklace on my chest. It was a sapphire blue, gleaming in the little light we had in this room. "Wear this at all times. It will protect you."
It was his voice. His low voice resonated within me, making me feel comfortable and relaxed. All of my worries washed away.
Eugene stood up to leave, but I grabbed his cloak..
"What... What is going to happen to me?" I looked at this man, sincerely wishing to trust him.
He smiled gently, "My name is Eugene Heliosinclaire." He lowered himself, brushing off the hair from my face, "and you are now named El Heliosinclaire."
Heliosinclaire... I felt drowsy and slowly closed my eyes, watching Eugene leave the room quietly.
