|Trey's POV|
I pull up to the diner that I always visit when I come down to see Alex. It's small and run by a family who I've known since before I was Trey Songz. Next to me, Amina unbuckles her seatbelt and begins to climb out the car.
The whole ride I tried to ignore how incredible she smelled. It was a mixture of brown sugar and honey. I realized that last night too when she came downstairs from her shower. She was dressed in sweats and a tank top and her hair looked a little crazy. If she did that to make me stop checking her out she failed. Even dressed like that with no make up she was still unbelievably beautiful. The only women I was use to not caring how they looked around me were the women and children in my family. Amina was... Different.
This morning when I saw her all I could think about was how good she looked. Her hair was curly today which made her look young. I still didn't know her age. I hope to god she was over 18. She was in college, I knew that once she said she had homework to do and I was praying she wasn't one of those people who graduated high school at 17 and went into college being that same age. I made a mental note to ask her today because the thoughts going through my mind were definitely rated R.
"You coming' or you just gonna stand there?" Amina's voice snaps me out of my thoughts.
"I'm coming." I put the car in park then killed the ignition before I climbed out the car. The two of us walked side by side together in silence inside the diner.
"Trey, is that you?" Yolanda, the owner came over to me. "It is you! Give me some sugar boy." She pulled me into a hug and I kissed her cheek.
"Good to see you again Mrs. Parks." I reply, smiling.
"When you get back into town?"
"Yesterday morning."
"How long you staying?" She pressed.
"Two weeks." I answer.
Yolanda glanced at Amina. "Who's your beautiful friend here?"
"Hi, I'm Amina." Amina introduced herself.
"Why don't y'all go sit down. I'll bring y'all some menus." Yolanda tells us.
"Thanks Mrs. Parks."
"No problem sweetie." She strolls off.
"Guessing you're a regular?" Amina says when she sits down across from me at a booth in the back of the room. The place had a good amount of customers inside. There were three old couples spread out, a middle age man sitting by himself and a mother and her daughter. No one seemed to be paying attention to me but I did catch the mother glancing in my direction since I walked in. I was prepared for her to approach me soon.
"I guess you can say that." I reply just as Yolando strolls over to our table and hands us each a menus. I thanked her and she walked away. "You know what you want?"
"Ummm... She said scanning over the menu.
"I'll have the eggs and bacon with a side of toast."
"Alright." I already knew what I was gonna get it. It was the same thing I always get when I'm here.
"Excuse me," a woman's voice is heard saying and I turn my head to see the mother from across the room. Her daughter is with her and she's crying. "I'm so sorry to bother you Trey but she saw you and really wanted to come say Hi." The mom explained.
"Of course," I push back away from my chair.
"What's your name beautiful?"
"It's- it's Mikayla." She sniffles, rubbing her eyes.
"Why you crying Mikayla? You can't be crying. I need to see that beautiful smile of your so we can take this picture okay?" I told her. She nods her head. "Can I get a hug?" I asked and she nodded her head again and I pulled her into my arms and squeezed her. "No more crying okay?" I pulled back to look at her.
She stopped crying but her eyes were slightly red.
"I love you." She finally spoke, her voice hoarse from all that crying."You love me? I love you too." I tell her. "You ready to take this picture?" Mikalya nods her head and I stare up at her mom who already has her iPhone out. "Imma need you to smile for me alright?"
"Okay."
I face the camera and the both of us smile into the flash.
"Thank you!" Mikayla hugs me.
"You welcome sweetie."
"Can I take a pic with you too?" The mother asked.
"Foe sure."
We take the picture and I let her kiss my cheek before she took Mikayla and walked off.
I turned around to face Amina. "Believe me now?"{Amina's POV}
What the hell did I just witness? I just finished telling Trey my order when all of a sudden this woman and a little girl comes over. The little girl is crying her eyes out and the mom has this look in her eyes as if she was seeing Jesus in person. All because of Tremaine. I couldn't understand it. Was he really famous? I was so close to pulling out my phone and Googling his ass but I stopped myself and continued to watch as he consoled the little girl. Seeing him with Aiden, his nephew was one thing, but seeing him with his stranger was another. It was more beautiful. He was completely sincere and gentle as he wiped the little girl tears and continued to hug her. In that moment I knew I could no longer think of him as some egotistical man.
"You believe me now?" Trey says to me once the little girl and woman left.
Did I believe him? I wasn't so sure.
"So you have fans. That doesn't mean you're as big as Alex goes around saying you are." I reply.
"Okay." He chuckles just as our food arrives. He ordered regular pancakes with scrambled eggs. "How about I prove it you?"
"How you gonna do that?" I wondered.
"I have a show here on Saturday. Come with me."
"Fine." I agree.
The two of us get into our food and Tremaine asks me about classes and major. I tell him I'm only taking classes for the first half of summer and that I'm a sophmore at the local community college. He seemed really happy about that which I didn't understand why. He asked about my major and I told him I was majoring in English and minioring in creative writing. When he asked why, I told him it was because ever since I was a little girl words and reading always fascinated me so by the time I got to high school I knew I wanted to be an English professor one day.
Tremaine didn't tell me much about himself. He seemed to really enjoy listening to me speak. And I was happy to keep talking since it's been a while since I've talked to guy without wondering what he thinks of me or when he'd strike next.
Glancing at the time on my phone I see that it's cutting close to my 9:30 a.m. class.
"What's wrong?" Tremaine asks me.
"I gotta leave now or else I'll be late for class." I tell him.
"Want me to give you a ride?"
Normally I would've declined but getting a ride would be much quicker than taking the city bus.
"If you don't mind." I say.
"Come on." Is all he says before he stands up from the table. I follow after him and the both of us leave the restaurant.
