"good job today, boys!" kenjiro said with a grin. he clapped sakusa on the back, and sakusa inwardly held in an expression of pain. kenjiro wasn't aware of how hard he hit, and it was quite painful.

"why is this family so damn strong?" sakusa mumbled to hinata.

hinata shuddered and looked at his bright red arms. his arms felt hot from the assault of the volleyballs. "tell me about it."

"we should start cleaning up," bokuto said aloud, bending down to grab a ball. before he could reach for another, kenjiro stopped him.

"no need, bokuto!" he said, rather joyfully.

bokuto tilted his head. "huh?" he questioned. then a flash of realization hit his face. "oh, do you have people come and clean this for you?"

kenjiro shook his head. "nope," he said. kenjiro pointed at seishun and atsumu. "they'll be cleaning up, today!"

seishun and atsumu's heads shot up, their eyes the size of saucers. "what the," atsumu called out. "what did we do to get this?"

"yeah, we were angels!" seishun chimed in. at her words, bokuto, sakusa, and hinata shook their heads.

kenjiro ignored their words and slung his bag over his shoulder, motioning for the three boys to do the same. "atsumu, did you drive here?"

atsumu blinked. "yeah, i did."

kenjiro beamed. "great! you can take shun home!" he said, using his nickname for seishun. kenjiro ruffled seishun's hair. "see you two later!"

atsumu and seishun watched, shellshocked, as the others walked out of the gym. they slowly turned to look at each other. seishun groaned and kicked a ball up into the air so she could catch it. "ugh, my dad is always like this," she grumbled. "seriously, making his own daughter stay with some random guy in the middle of nowhere?"

atsumu took offense to the 'random guy' comment. "i bet you're kicking your feet and all giddy, inside," atsumu retorted. "admit it, you have a huge crush on me."

"oh my god, you read me like a book."

"glad you've finally admitted it," atsumu said with a teasing grin. he looked at himself in the reflection of a window, running a hand through his messy hair. "what's not to love?"

seishun spared him a glance. she watched atsumu check himself out in the mirror. "i could never go for a blond."

"don't hate on what you can't have."

seishun doubled over in laughter at atsumu's words. atsumu froze as he watched seishun fall to the ground, melodic laughter leaving her lips. "oh my god," seishun cried out. she replayed the moment over again in her head, and another round of laughter flew from her lips.

"okay, you can stop laughing now," atsumu said, bouncing a ball off of her back. "you know it's true."

seishun's laughter calmed but her smile couldn't leave her face. "oh, far from it," she said. "i've only dated guys with dark hair, and i plan on continuing to do that."

"pfft, you're clearly on the wrong side," atsumu said. he wanted to add that he had dark hair before but stopped himself. that'd be embarrassing. "blondes do it better."

"sure, maybe natural blondes, but fake blondes? definitely not."

atsumu placed his hands on his hips. he was starting to feel self-conscious about his hair. "okay, i've had it with you hating on my hair. just who do you think you are?"

seishun faked a pout. "aw, poor 'tsumu! is the baby gonna cry?"

instead of responding to her insult, atsumu quirked a brow at the nickname. "'tsumu, huh?" he repeated. he quite liked it, especially coming from her.
