seishun woke up from the sound of her alarm blaring in her ears.

she quickly turned it off, a yawn leaving her lips. seishun heard the grumbles of kumi and miu, who weren't eager to get up.

seishun got ready for the day, taking a quick shower and washing her face. she pulled on her jersey. seishun was growing excited. since kageyama was here, she had to play her best.

the four girls were out of their room not much long after, clad in their uniforms. unlike her usual ponytail, seishun had her hair up in a high bun, to keep it out of her face.

"seishun, you look so pretty in a bun," miu cried. when they saw seishun come out of the bathroom, they began fussing over her. "why don't you wear a bun more often?"

kumi nodded. "you'd be unstable if you wore a bun all the time," she agreed. kumi turned to miu. "imagine seishun, in a bun, at the club."

miu pretended to faint. "imagine all of the free drinks."

dai snorted at seishun's sigh. "have you ever had better hypemen than them?" dai questioned. "your ego should be off the roof, by now."

seishun rolled her eyes. "yes, i'm super egotistical, at the moment," she replied to dai. seishun touched her bun. "it's going to fall out when we play."

miu quickly tutted and pulled seishun's hand away from the bun. "you can redo it as many times as you like. but you aren't allowed to take it out."

seishun always found it funny how unserious her friends were. even though they had three huge games coming up, they didn't seem fazed, not at all. kumi and miu were always joking around, and there was never a dull moment. even dai laughed along with them, but seishun knew she'd soon be in captain mode.

they made it to the bus, and all their teammates were there. seishun approached akemi and yuriko, who were waving her over. "hi, ryuen-sama."

seishun waved hello and didn't bother correcting them. "are you guys ready?" she asked.

"of course. we're playing ichibayashi first. then shiratorizawa?" akemi asked. she began to count. "quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals."

yuriko nodded to confirm. "i wonder who we're going to play in finals. nekoma or itachiyama. what do you think, ryuen-senpai?"

seishun hummed. "i think itachiyama," she said. "i talked to shoji about it, and she doesn't think they'll be able to beat itachiyama."

akemi frowned. "aw, man. nekoma's always more fun to play than itachiyama."

seishun and yuriko agreed. "itachiyama's always so rude. they barely ever say anything," yuriko noted. "but then again, i'm pretty sure everyone says that about us, that we're rude and don't say anything."

seishun snorted. "they just never get to hear kumi and miu."

the bus showed up, and they all piled in. seishun sat beside miu, who was chatting with tomi about something. she closed her eyes and took deep breaths.

this would be her last time in the last three rounds of nationals.

it was melancholy, to say the least. she was sad because it held so much value to her, but happy to know that she'd soon go on to achieve more.

seishun opened her eyes. there was no way she would lose.
