the following morning, seishun was awakened by a scream.

seishun didn't bother to get up. she turned to her other side. "did bokuto send you nudes or somethin'?" she mumbled, burying her face into to the pillow. while doing so, she winced. "ouch."

seishun felt hands fall on her shoulders and yank her up. dai's face greeted seishun. "why on earth do you have a black eye and a busted lip?!"

looking into the mirror at the other end of the room, seishun couldn't see her face clearly but she could see the purple surrounding her eye. "that's not good."

dai smacked her. "seishun, what the hell happened last night?"

"oh," seishun swallowed. she needed to come up with a lie, especially knowing how dai would react if she knew the truth. "when we were going to kageyama's car, you started kicking and punching."

dai gasped. "i did that?" she whispered. seishun nodded matter-of-factly. "oh, thank god!"

seishun blinked. "did you just say, thank god?"

dai nodded. "yeah, i mean i've been waiting to beat you up since you lied to me about your fingers," dai sighed.

seishun almost flinched and revealed herself. "well, good thing drunk actions are sober thoughts..." she coughed.

soon, the pair and the rest of the niiyama girls were on their way back to miyagi. seishun was bombarded with questions by her teammates and coaches, but dai mentioned she'd just taught seishun a lesson for being an idiot. for some reason, no one really questioned it.

a few hours later, seishun hopped down the steps to the bus.

she said bye to her teammates and started walking home. seishun listened to music and hummed along with it on her way home, the sun still high up in the sky. it was growing a bit colder, so she tugged at her jacket.

when she reached her house, seishun hadn't noticed the extra cars in the driveway. she slipped the key into the keyhole and pushed the door open.

instead of the usually silent house, seishun heard loud chatter and familiar voices, along with the smell of food.

slipping off her shoes, oikawa greeted her at the corridor.

"shun-chan!" he greeted brightly. then, his expression dropped as seishun pushed her hood down. oikawa rushed over. "shun-chan, what the hell happened?"

seishun felt oikawa fuss over her and thought back to the past. if it had been a handful of years earlier, seishun would be melting at his presence and inwardly screaming at how close oikawa was.

"i'm fine," seishun protested. oikawa was pushing her towards the dining room.

"kenjiro-san," oikawa exclaimed, looking stern. "look what happened to shun!"

kenjiro tilted his head while making some food. he didn't seem all that surprised. "who was it, this time?" he said. it wasn't exactly uncommon for seishun to get in fights.

seishun dropped her bag on the ground and tiredly sat down at the table. "tsukki," she answered. she explained what happened in detail, and they were both shocked by the end of it.

oikawa ran a hand down his face. "just what's happened in the years that i've been gone?"

kenjiro chuckled. "she's been quite the troublemaker without you, oikawa," he grinned. "i think it was an act of rebellion."

seishun glared at her dad. "that is not true," she huffed. "you're a liar."

kenjiro harrumphed and grabbed his keys. "well, you two have fun!" he said. "i'm leaving!"
