seishun mumbled incoherent words in her sleep at the feeling of something soft brushing across her cheek. it went away for a moment, and seishun stilled. a few moments later, she felt it again.

"mm," she grumbled, eyebrows furrowing at the interruption of her sleep. seishun squinted open an eye to see what was bothering her.

a handsome face was just inches away from her. his crystal-like eyes were gazing into hers, and his lips were twisted into amusement and a hint of fondness.

"oops, did i wake you?" kageyama said, a cheeky smile on his lips.

seishun glared at him and blindly reached for a pillow to smack him with. "you did it on purpose, asshole," she said. she propped herself on her elbows. "what time is it?"

"around nine, i think," kageyama said.

seishun hummed and sat up. she yawned, ruffling her hair. "i have to practice with dad and the guys, today," she said, more to herself than kageyama. "do you want to come?"

kageyama scoffed. "why the hell would i come? they're my rivals."

"i wasn't gonna let you come, i was just asking you out of courtesy," she replied.

kageyama rolled his eyes and flicked her on the forehead. "brat," he mumbled. he laid back in bed, his hands holding onto the back of his head. "by the way, i'm going to lunch with ushijima. do you want to come with?"

seishun perked up. "ushiwaka?" she said excitedly. as she was best friends with kageyama, she had gotten to know ushijima wakatoshi. he had immediately taken a liking to her, due to her talent in volleyball. "yes, i wanna go!"

"somehow, i regret asking," kageyama mumbled to himself.

seishun jumped out of bed and grabbed kageyama's hand to drag him out. she dragged him downstairs to the kitchen, kenjiro not in sight. "tobio, can we make waffles?" she asked, looking up at him.

kageyama looked down at her and stayed silent as he studied her. seishun wasn't the tallest, nor the shortest, but kageyama towered over her. when she looked up at him with her large eyes, he could never say no.

"fine," he said with a sigh, quickly looking away. if she looked at him like that anymore, he'd end up doing anything she'd ask. "grab the eggs, flour, salt, baking powder, and sugar."

as kageyama grabbed the materials, he saw seishun navigating around the house, a bit of a clueless expression on her face. kageyama had banned her from cooking in the house after she had almpst started a fire. since then, he and kenjiro always made sure that she ate out, or they fed her.

seishun placed all of the ingredients on the island and stood beside kageyama as he began. he would occasionally place a bowl in front of seishun and tell her to mix, which she obediently did. for the most part, seishun watched with interest as kageyama worked.

not much later, they were seated beside each other on the counter, eating away at the delicious waffles.

"mm," seishun said contently. she loved kageyama's waffles and anything that he made. "it's so good."

"i know," kageyama replied without missing a beat.

they continued to eat their food in a comfortable silence, enjoying their meal and each other's presence. "i can't wait," seishun said, once she finished.

"hm?" he replied, turning to glance at her. "for what?"

seishun grinned. "to see ushiwaka! i haven't seen him in so long!"
