In the middle of the night, me, Sonic, and Tails were busy sleeping until the knocking came in.
Sonic turned to his side while sleeping until the knocking became more insistent and then turned to straight up pounding, causing Sonic to wake up.
"Man," Sonic groaned.
I woke up due to the knocking as well and started coughing too. Sonic noticed it and tried to cover me up with a heavy blanket.
"I'll check to see who's at the door, ok? Go back to sleep," Sonic said as he pats my head.
As I went back to sleep, Sonic zooms his way to the door and reveals Eggman as he opens the door.
"Hi!" Eggman greeted.
"What do you want?" Sonic asked, annoyed.
"First of all, thank you for answering the door at such a late hour. I realize what an inconvenience this must be–" Eggman gets cutted off.
"Get to it, Eggface." Sonic said.
"W-well, I... I uh... I need your help," Eggman blurted out.
"You need my help?" Sonic asked.
"Yes. My sinister island lair... You know, the ultra-high-tech stronghold where I hatch my diabolical schemes to eliminate you... It was destroyed in the storm. I was hoping I could crash with you and Tails for a few days until my robots rebuild it? Please! Don't strand me in this wilderness!" Eggman pleaded.
"Well, you could certainly use a roof over your head. (sniffs) And a bath. (gets suspicious) But how do I know you won't just capture me, Tails, and Y/n while we're sleeping?" Sonic asked.
"I swear not to harm you, your fox friend, and the child during my stay. I didn't even bring any weapons. Here, check my pants," Eggman said as he pulled up his jacket from the bottom.
"No no no. It's okay. I believe you. So it's only for a few days and it's just you?" Sonic asked.
Dr. Eggman: "Just me!" Eggman said as Sonic gestures at him to get in.
"And Orbot and Cubot. They're family!" He added that Orbot and Cubot followed Eggman inside.
Sonic groans as he shuts the door and goes back to the couch until he sees me waking up from my sleep.
"Are you sure it's a good idea for Eggman to stay here?" I asked, tirely.
"Don't worry. If he's gonna stay here, I'll make sure that he's not gonna go near you," Sonic replied.
The next morning, I was still laying on the couch with the cold and saw Sonic opening the door for his other 3 friends until they saw Eggman coming out in his pajamas.
"Eggman?!" Knuckles exclaimed as he and the girls went into their fighting stance.
"Oh, hey gang! Didn't know you'd be visiting so early. I'm still in my evil pajamas. They have a trapdoor in the back," Eggman said as he showed his "trapdoor" then sat on the chair.
"What's he doing here?" Knuckles asked.
"We have a truce. Tails is letting him stay here until his lair is rebuilt," Sonic replied.
"Ahem. Still waiting on that Salmon Eggs Benedict," Eggman said.
"Coming. Coming!" Tails said, urgently while holding the salmon eggs benedict.
He brings over the Salmon Eggs Benedict.
Eggman looks at it.
"I asked for egg whites. These are yellows. See the yellow? I'm trying to watch my cholesterol. And this salmon is farm-raised! What is this, prison?" Eggman bursted.
