Lyanna and Jon have a talk and we hear from a new character. Coren Martell meets someone who leaves him a bit confused. I hope you guys like it. 🥰
3 weeks later.
Lyanna had not been able to stand still since her father arrived in Kings Landings and turned her world upside down. Things had not gotten much better with Jon's arrival, especially because she was aware of the contents in the chest he brought with him. The chest was chained shut and had been placed in one of the black cells, waiting for all the lords to arrive. Lyarra was supposed to arrive today, with her husband and children. And now Lyanna had received a letter from one of her spies and the news was even more dire. She would have to speak to Jon before Tywin found out what happened and accused her brother of treason. She had sent a guard to get Jon and bring him to what used to be the Godswood. They would be able to talk in peace there and not be overheard.
"Lyanna." She took a deep breath, letting it out slowly before she turned to face her brother. "I was told you wished to see me."
"I was told that Daenerys Targaryen arrived in Dragonstone two moons ago." Jon tensed but did not say anything. "I was also told that you went to see her not too long after that. Explain yourself."
"It is not what you think." Jon took a step closer to her. "We need her dragons, they would mean the difference between life and death. I just wanted to show her what we were up against."
"We have all heard everything Daenerys Targaryen has done. They call her a conqueror and I am sure she did not come to Westeros because she missed her home. She wants the iron throne back." Jon nodded, not saying anything. "Did she agree to help?"
"She is still deciding." Jon wrung his hands together. "She wanted my promise that we would not get involved with the coming war between her and Lannisters."
"Why would she believe you have the authority to make that promise? While you are the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch, you are not the Lord Paramount of the North."
"She knows I cannot speak for the North, she was asking it of the Night's Watch."
"The Night's Watch?" Lyanna frowned. "The Night's Watch does not get involved in any conflicts that do not have to do with the Wildlings."
"I do not think she knows that." Jon shrugged. "She does not seem to know a lot about Westeros. She does not know about her father."
"What do you mean she does not know about her father?"
"She does not know about all the horrible things that he did." Lyanna moved closer to her brother. "She has very set ideas of who her family was. But now she is all alone, she does not have anyone."
"Jon." Lyanna took his hands in hers, giving them a gentle squeeze. "You are gentle and caring, you have always been. But do not start to pity this woman, we do not know many things about her, and what we do know is not very comforting. She came to conquer Westeros, and that means she will kill anyone who stands in her way. That will be my husband, my children, and myself."
"I know." His face was sad as he looked at her. "I told her to send her reply to King Tywin. She knows that right now the most important thing is defeating the army of the dead. If they win there will be no kingdom for anyone to rule."
"I know you are right, just like I know your heart was in the right place." Lyanna gave her brother a smile. "I will speak with Tywin and tell him what is happening, I do hope that Daenerys will listen to you and decide to help us."
Now Lyanna had to explain to Tywin what Jon had done and make sure Tywin did not attempt to take any repercussions against her bother. Jon should have spoken to her before talking to Daenerys, that way Lyanna would have been able to protect him. Now she was just hoping Tywin understood her brother had just been trying to do what was best.
