Friday 13th. The day that was considered bad luck, especially if it landed on a Friday. People have believed that today, unexplainable things were gonna happen to anyone and everyone. Some people took it seriously, while some didn't to the point of embracing bad luck. Ben was one of those people who would embrace it, use to his own benefits. He carried around a luck charm of a rabbits foot in his back pocket.

Ben wanted to have a bit of fun, and word on tbe street was that Charlie and his goons have been wanting to go to a party, yet haven't received an invite to any. Coincidence? He didn't think so. Ben smirked as an idea was forming into his head. He grabbed a photo of Charlie and his friends he had hung on a cork board and stared at the photo intensely.

"Oh, yeah. This is gonna be one delightful day!" Ben purred. "Oh, Charlie. I'm coming for you, whether you like it or not!"

Ben laughed as he tore the photo in half, hanging the part with Charlie in it back onto his board. Ben smiled devilishly as he started to jot down ideas on how to make the most of today. The rest of his morning had been used for planning and getting things situated. Ben felt a rush of thrill coursing through his body, to the point he let out a long, manic like laughter.

"Thanks again for coming on short notice." Ben politely spoke as he handed an old woman a cup of tea.

"Oh, it's not a problem. After all," The old woman took a sip of her tear. "I heard you have a little game you wish to set into motion, correct?"

"Indeed I do!" Ben smiled. "But I need a little help, of course."

"I see." The old woman hummed.

"So, think you can help me out," Ben spoke. "Miss Anastasia?"

"Tell me what to do, and I'll be more than happy to help, my pupil." The old woman, Anastasia, smiled.

"Thank you, ma'am." Ben grinned.

"It's my pleasure, Mr. Hope." Anastasia said. "Just tell me what to do."

Ben paced back and forth as he explained the plan, including Anastasia's part. Her part was to act like a lonely, kind old lady whose house Charlie and his goons go to. Once there, Anastasia would act like any typical old lady, by offering cookies and being a good host for her guest. Then, she would go into the kitchen, make cookies, and put a sedative in the sweet treats. Ben kept in mind the fact that Charlie wouldn't eat, so he told Anastasia he would be hiding somewhere and wait to strike.

"My, my." Anastasia smiled. "Seems you have been doing this some time? You've seem to plot how everything will go, and have a backup plan."

"No. I've never done something like this." Ben admits. "It just...came to me, y'know?"

"I do. When you have a deep hatred for someone, you often think about how they would be unalive, until you eventually snap and carry out such thing." Anastasia spoke. "It's something I've been doing for years, my dear."

"How long have you been slaughtered people?" Ben asked.

"For quite some time." Anastasia admitted. "It all started back during my sophomore year of high school."

"Lord." Ben breathed. "You really are a serial killer, aren't you?"

"Of course. I've been doing this of years. Admittedly, I'm not as quick or anything like that anymore. So, I resort to other techniques due to how old I've become."

"Fascinating."

"Thank you, young man." Anastasia looked at Ben with a serious look. "Why are you doing this?"

"Pardon?" Ben was taken aback.

"Everyone has a motive, so what exactly is yours?" Anastasia inquired.

Ben fell silent. He shook his head as a small grin form, letting out a small laugh.

"Does it matter? All that matters is Charlie and his goons won't ever see the light of day again." Ben deadpanned. "Simple."

Ben and Anastasia stared at one another. One kept their composure, while the other looked irritated. Ben let out a sigh before turning away.

"I think it's about time you go." Ben growled. "You know you're part, and I need to plan a little more."

"Fine then." Anastasia stood up and walked towards the front door. "Keep all the secrets you want. Be stubborn as you wish, but sooner or later your motive will become more clear."

"Don't you know already? I've made it plain and simple." Ben said.

"You did," Anastasia started. "However, it's not the real motive."

Ben eyes shot open as he watched Anastasia leave. Didn't say a word or no goodbyes, just walked out on Ben. The bloke let out a low growl as he picked the nearest object and tossed it at a wall.

__________

That night, Ben was in his bed, getting lost in his thoughts. The bloke kept thinking back to what Anastasia had said

'Real motive? The hell is she talking about?', Ben thought.

Ben got up from his bed and exited his room. He went into the bathroom and splashed some water on his face. The bloke looked at his reflection, noticing how he looked. Messy hair, tired eyes, and his clothes were wrinkling. Ben sighed as he started to fill the sink up with cold water. His hands twitched as he watched the water filling up. Ben turned off tbe faucet once he was satisfied. Taking a deep breath immediately, Ben forcefully shoved his head into the cold water. He stayed under for a few seconds before moving back, breathing for air. His hair now soaked, had started to drip as it was stuck to his face. Ben smiled with glee as he started to laugh hysterically.

"Oh, it's thrilling." Ben paused as pushed a few strands of hair out of his face. "To be a villain."

Ben grinned. He exited the bathroom, not bothering to dry his hair off. As he went back to his room, he looked around and saw how messy it got. Papers all around the room, string on the cork boad dangling. His desk had dishes on it, something his folks would say he shouldn't do. Ben frowned at this, not wanting to think about his folks and how they gone on a trip. He growled at the idea as he went back to his, laying down once more.

"I will get what I want." Ben deadened at the ceiling. "No matter what."
