Demons. Most people —and stories— based them off as horrible, unforgiving creatures. However, they weren't hundred percent right. A large population was exactly as the stories told, but a small proportion of the creatures were the complete opposite. Surprising, yet true. Regardless, not all Demons are powerful as told. Some where weak, low on the totem pole, where Charlie falls into.

Charlie is considered one of the weakest Demons ever to walk, not mention he was very kind for a Demon. Then again, maybe it was for the best. Charlie didn't like the idea of harming or torturing anyone. He never saw the appeal. Never felt the thrill of it. Luckily for him, Charlie had met Demons who were a lot like him. Although they seemed to be a little stronger than he was.

Their names are Tara, Tao, and Isaac. Not a lot, but he was content with it. Besides, Charlie preferred having a small group of friends compared to big ones. It made his anxiety worsen the bigger the group was, and also since he was never able to keep friends in the first place. Regardless, Charlie was grateful for having the three is life in Hell.

His family was a lot like him, however, they would behave a bit differently in public. Charlie assumed it was to help not get them targeted for murder or anything like that. Regardless, his parents were good. His little brother and sister being the same, as well. Charlie had a deep connection with each of his siblings, especially with Tori, who seem to share the same burden as Charlie.

However, she had been able to disguise her good side from the public eye. Something Charlie wished he had done. His little brother was still young, not having been able to grasp the situation. So Tori and Charlie both agreed to protect thier little brother, no matter the cost. The two secretly wished they were in their little brother's shoes.

When it comes to relationships, Charlie has been able to have stable relationships with his friends and family. However, when it came to romance, he was lacking. His ex-boyfriend, Ben, had turned on him and left him to rot. Everytime they saw one another, Charlie would flinch whenever Ben would talk or move. It got so bad that Charlie would refuse to leave his house, unless some he felt comfortable with was by his side. Most of the times being Tori, since out of the two, she had more respect than Charlie did.

Charlie was never scared of leaving when he was younger, but after getting bullied for being weak and kind, he started to become hesitant when going out. It got bad to the point Tori would have to stay by his side constantly. Of course once he got older, he started to put on a facade. A facade of acting like he got over his fear, when in reality, it made Charlie even more stress and anxious. However, he was able to find that since he has friends, Charlie was able to go out more and be a little calm.

Charlie wished he was like the others. Not being shy. Not being weak. Not being kind. Wishing to be strong. Have confidence. Have a thrill for torture. Charlie wished he was born like his fellow Demons, then maybe he wouldn't be singled out constantly. Charlie grew jealous of those around him, despite knowing the horror that goes on in Hell. Charlie wished he fit in. Wished that everyone liked him. However, it seemed like Lucifer had other plans in mind for some Demon like him.

Charlie closed up his journal, once he was done writing, and chucked it across his bedroom. He watched it hit the wall and fall to the ground, right next to his drum set. He let out a low growl as he started panting, as if he forced all his energy into that throw. He heard a knock on the door and turned to see a familiar figure in the doorway.

"You done throwing things?" The person asked.

"Tori."

"Hey, brother. You alright?" Tori asked. Her voice filled with worry despite wearing an emotionless look.

"Y-Yeah," Charlie looked at his feet. "Just feeling a bit tired."

"I see," The girl hummed. "Well, mom wanted me to come get you. Food's ready."

"Heh. Funny how we still need to eat, despite being monsters." Charlie chuckled.

"Still," Tori breathed. "We need subsistence for energy and such. Just because we are creatures, doesn't mean we aren't. . .living beings."

"I know, I know," Charlie shook his head. "Still doesn't make sense to me. Besides, the food we eat normally comes from. . .other things."

Tori thought for a moment. She took in what her brother was saying, but shrugged it off quickly.

"At least we ain't eating our species."

"I thought we always had?" Charlie questioned.

"I'm gonna tell you something, but it stays between us," Tori shut and locked the door before going over to Charlie. "Got it?"

"Y-Yeah."

"We get our food from the living." Tori said. Charlie was taken aback before wearing a skeptical look.

"How? That's physically impossible."

"That's what I thought, too," Tori whispered. "But there is a way to go to the human realm."

"Wait—how do you know this?" Charlie inquired.

"I have my sources." Tori said. "But that's what we eat."

"We eat humans?" Charlie grimaced.

"What—no! We eat the animals that comes from the humans!" Tori shook her head. "Satan, Charlie. What's wrong with you?"

"Hey—don't blame me!" Charlie pointed at Tori. "You're the one who phrased it weirdly!"

Tori backed away from Charlie, thinking back to what she had said. Then realization was written across her face, but she quickly brushed it off. "Whatever, Charlie."

Tori headed to the door, but turned to look at Charlie. She wore a serious expression.

"If you really wanna know, I'll tell you later when our folks are asleep." Tori softened. "OK?"

"OK." Charlie agreed.

Tori nodded her head before leaving, unlocking before closing the door behind her. Charlie sat on his bed star strucked. There was a way to get to the human realm, and Tori had somehow figured it out. Charlie shook his head. There was no way Tori was able to get such a thing. The only thing Charlie could think of how Tori got such thing, was the higher ups. But how was able to the details? Charlie remembered that she had said something about a source.

Charlie, feeling determined, wanted to know more about how to get the human realm. It's been a dream he had that he thought was just in his head, but turned out to be true. Charlie needed to know. Needed to know how the humans lived. If the humans were nice, or was blood thirsty as his fellow species. Questions after questions started to form into his head, however, he knew he would get answers to until later. For the rest of the night, he thought of questions he would ask Tori.
