DANIELLE POV
It's already 7pm, we are late. We got to the celebration in just ten minutes because we were near the place it is reserved.
Haerin and I instantly got flooded by photographers asking for some pictures, so we took as much as they liked. There were so many comments about how beautiful Haerin and I was and how we are such goals. I place my hand on the lower back of Haerin's as we walk into the building. We were meet by her colleagues and handed champagne. I stay by Haerin at all time, just accompanying her. If this was a business thing, she would be accompanying me.
"Can I steal Haerin for a second of an interview?" A reporter comes up to our little circle of six.
"Yes, of course!" The others said, but Haerin look at me for my permission and I laugh inside. I give her an approval nod.
"So... Danielle, what made you come here to see her last performance?" The old Woman ask.
I put my free hand in my pocket, "I want to show my support to my wife."
"Do you think it's too late already?" another old man question.
"Well what do you think?" I return his question back to him.
"Me? I would say yes. You and Haerin have been married for some months now. Danielle, she got the divorce papers ready," the old man and old woman laugh, but I didn't find it funny. I relax myself and sip my champagne.
"We shouldn't be so hard on Danielle, she has never fall in love before," the woman pretends to help but in reality, she's rubbing it in my face.
I can't let myself be embarrassed by these old hags. "Sorry, may I get your names. I haven't met you all before."
"Oh yes, sorry Danielle. Well, I'm Lalisa and this is my husband, Frederic. We are the ones who sigh Haerin up to competitions," those two were the ones taking shots at me.
"I'm Mina, I help with the choreography," I nod. She's the girl who sat by me earlier when I came to see Haerin performing.
"And I'm Jeongyeon. I do nothing," the others laugh but still I keep myself expressionless.
"Hello all!" Jay. he came to stand right beside me and I didn't move over. "Hey Dani, I didn't see you there."
"Hey," I said.
"What were you guys talking about? It sounds so alive."
"We were talking to Danielle about Haerin," Mrs. Lalisa said.
"I'm going to go, so excuse me," I said before going to walk away. Except, Jay grabbed my arm to stop me.
"You don't like me, do you?" He ask.
"Don't make such a statement," I brush his hand off me.
"Danielle, Haerin is beautiful. Two nights with her was the best nights out of my life," I clenched my hand that's in my pocket.
"Excuse me?" I turn to face him.
"Haerin is still in my bed after your marriage. Every time she goes out, she comes to me," oh really?
"What are you going to do about it?" Jeongyeon urged me.
Don't let them get to you. These are all lies.
"After she divorce you, she's coming to me," Jay continues.
"Jay, for a person like you who ruins marriages, I'm not surprised that shit is spewing out from your mouth. How come a person like you has so much to talk about but manages to say nothing? And you don't fucking talk to my wife that way, and don't think that you're getting under my skin, because a rat like you, all it take is arsenic to get rid of. For the rest of you who are using my wife for profit, I hope you have enough saved to bail ourselves out." I splashed the champagne on Jay's face and He was about to launch at me, but Jeongyeon held his back. "Behave yourself, sewer rat," I turn and walk away.
I went to a table of drinks and grab myself a glass. I drink it down like shots then do it again. After that I calm myself and grab a third drink before going to an unoccupied table.
"Calm down," I whispered to myself before taking a sip.
"Danielle, are you okay?" I hear my wife and feel her touch on my shoulder.
Don't ruin her night.
"Tm good, Haerin," I give her a smile.
"I saw you drink two whole glasses of wine. Why was that?"
"It tastes good," I grab her hand that's on my shoulder and pull her to sit on the seat beside me.
Pop a question.
"Are you cheating on me behind my back?" I ask. Stupid! Why ask that?!
"I'm not," she claims. "What made you ask that?"
"Just because I don't care about you doesn't mean that you can be a free woman like you used to be. You're married to me," I grab her left hand and notice she still wears the ring.
"I know Danielle, but I don't understand what you're getting at."
"Nowhere," I finish my third drink of the night.
"I left you with my crew, how did that go?"
"Horrible. I don't even know why you signed under them."
"My parents did," she said.
"Sign with another crew. I don't like them all."
Haerin laughs, "Danielle, that's not how it works. The contract is for every ten years."
"When is your next contact?"
"In May this year."
"That's just next month," I smile. "I don't want you to sign it. I can find you a better crew. My network is humongous."
"You sound drunk already," Haerin touched my cheek and I leaned into her touch. "Don't get too drunk, I won't be able to take you back."
"Just get me water then."
"Okay... Wifey," hum? Haerin gets up and leaves the table.
I notice a wine bottle at my table so I pop it open then pour it into my glass.
"Danielle, can we join you?" A group of three ask. I stare at them one by one before nodding.
"Not this seat. My wife will be back," I save Haerin a seat and look at them.
"We are glad to see you here, Danielle," the only boy said.
"We knew you'd be here," girl number one added.
"We are friends of Haerin," said girl number two. I smile. I didn't know Haerin had friends. Hahah.
