Chapter 26. I'll Do Better

DANIELLE POV

Those who claimed to be her friends, were annoying. They kept asking me questions and I answer what I can.

I huff and cross my arms. "Don't push my buttons," I glare at them. They look at each other then leave. Few seconds later, the lights dim down. Where is Haerin? I look around, and to the back she's talking to someone. They nod at each other then she walk to me with a smile on her face. Is she always this happy?

"Sorry to keep you waiting," she said as she set a plate of fruits and sweets in front of me. "I got you something to munch on too," she sit in her chair and then grab my hand.

"Thanks."

Our attention drifts to the stage where a woman is in front of a microphone. She speaks and give out a speech. After finishing, she invites Mrs. Lalisa. That hag to the stage. Her presence disgust me and her speech bored me. Then after she's done, she invites Haerin.

"I'll be back," Haerin tells me before going to the stage. I smile as I eat what she gave me and drink wine. Throughout her speech, she mostly kept her eyes on me. After she finishes, everyone applaud her even me. She came back to the table and we begin to talk between ourselves as people perform on the stage.

"Hey Haerin and Dani," my mood instantly fell. Jay joined us at our table and sat on the other side of Haerin. I blew a sigh and roll my eyes.

"Hey Jay," Haerin greeted him. I just want to take Haerin out from here now before anything happens. I finish my wine and refill it as I listen to them talking. I also decided to stay quiet because if I don't then something might go wrong. So conversation bounced between Haerin and him. I know what Jay is trying to get out of this, and I will not give him the satisfaction.

"I'll see you later," Jay said and I furrow my brows. You will not see her later. I turn to look at him as He's walking away, his back turns to us.

"Dani, are you okay?" I hear Haerin and turn to look at her. My facial muscles ease and I nod.

"We are leaving," I get up and pull Haerin by the arm.

"Ow, Dani. You're hurting me," she hiss. I loosen my grip and glide my hand down to her hand. I pull Haerin out of the place full of pigs and rats who don't know their places.

When we reached the car we took here. I get out my keys and it is stopped by Haerin. Her voice calms me down and she takes the keys from my hand.

"I will drive," she said.

HAERIN POV

I helped Danielle out of the car and gave a key to a staff member who was opening the door for us. As Dani leans her weight to me and we head to the elevator, she pops a question.

"What time is it?" She ask.

I look at my watch and look at her. "Almost 8:30."

We went to the elevator and Dani was closing her eyes. Don't tell me you're sleep walking. I take her into the room then to the bed. I lay her down and shake her by the leg.

"Dani?" She didn't answer me so I went ahead to take her shoes off then pulled her to sit up to take the blazer off.

"Haerin," she whispered and slowly opened her eyes.

"What is it, Dani?" I ask then touch her cheek.

"You're not divorcing me, are you?" I frown at her question. What makes you think that I'm going to divorce you? I'm having our baby.

"I'm not," I tell her.

"They said you are. After divorcing me, you're going to Jay," I shake my head at the nonsense. Whoever told her that must be desperate.

"That's untrue, who told you that?"

"I'm tired," she changes the topic and falls completely back on the bed.

"Dani, please sit back up. I have to undo your shirt," I say as I pull her by the hand.

"Undo your dress first," pfft! Wow. I was shocked at her response then put her hand down. Fine. I head to the closet and change into a night gown I brought with me. I don't know what came to me, but I straddle Dani. Her eyes open and lay on me.

"Dani, do you want me to change you or not?"

"No."

"Okay then sleep properly," I get off her.

After she fixed herself, I went ahead and lay beside her. We stare at each other and I rest my hand on top of hers.

"I came here because I miss you," she confessed. I couldn't help but smile.

"So that's why."

"Mhm," she nodded then close her eyes.

I continue to look at Dani. Her beautiful face when sleeping. "I love you."

DANIELLE POV

Waking up to another body beside me was unusual. It scared me until I realized that it was just Haerin. I start to look at her as she sleeps until she stirs and wakes up.

"How was it? Spending a night with me wasn't scary right?"

Hah.

"Tm glad nothing happened last night."

"Me too."

I smiled and so did she. My eyes slowly drop down to her lips then I move towards her. Our lips touched and I felt my lust for her. She kisses me back, our lips brushes against each other. Like always, my phone rings to interrupt us. I had to pull away to answer it.

"Hello?" I answer as Haerin and I look at each other. Her hand rests on top of mine and I take the chance to hold her.

"When are you coming back? There are officials waiting to meet you," my Assistant asked. She still works under me after I move back to my family's business.

"I am with my wife," I said. "We'll return today."

"Okay, will you be okay if I set up meetings?"

"No, don't set them up," I end the call then return to kiss Haerin.

"You called me your wife," she said after pulling herself away.

Indeed.

"Should I not?" I ask.

"No, I just love it..."

"I'm sorry for all the things I've done to you. Haerin, from the bottom of my heart, I promise you that I'll do better."

"You're forgiven," we smile at each other then I use my arm that's next to her as a head rest for her. Haerin, very close to me, rubs her nose against mine which causes me to smile even more.
