Chapter 30. Big Competiton

DANIELLE POV

I watch Haerin as she gets inside the car. She's avoiding eye contact with me so I continue to look at her.

"What's wrong?" I turn my upper body to face her.

"It's nothing," she said. "I'm okay, but tired."

"What did you do?" I continue.

"Put routines together and select a song," she gave me a short summary. Alright. I lock the doors then start driving. Haerin didn't even talk when I tried to get her talking so I eventually gave up. She's just tired and with a baby in her, I shouldn't bother her too much. We got home, which I made dinner already, Haerin left upstairs and never came back down. Something is definitely wrong. I went up to her room and knocked on the door.

"Not now Dani, I'm changing," she said.

"I'll wait."

"No, don't."

"What about dinner?"

"I'll skip tonight."

"That's not good for you and our child."

"Leave me alone!!" She yells at me. I barge in and see her in her bed. You liar.

"What happened, Haerin?" I ask nicely. She couldn't answer me because she had started crying. I went to her and sat down on the bed. When I did that, she covered her head with the blanket. I had to remove it. "You can tell me anything, Haerin. Who hurt you? Who made you upset? What happened back there?"

"Shut up Danielle!" She yells at me again. "I'm stressed alright?! Just leave me alone like you always do. I liked that better!" Haerin turns her back to me and I just blink. Mood swings? I lay behind her and try my best to calm her down.

"Alright, I'll leave you alone but I'm sorry for bothering you. I care about you and our baby. If I have done something wrong then I'm sorry for that too. But dinner is important, so-"

"Leave," she commands. I sigh then get off the bed.

"Good night, Haerin," I head out and close the door behind me.

The next morning, Haerin sneaked into my room and got in bed with me. She wakes me up and apologizes about last night. I forgive her then we are happy again.

The day of Competition...

"I'm getting nervous with you, Haerin," Dani commented which made Haerin laugh.

"It's me who's performing, not you," she responded back.

"I know, but this is really out of hand. You shouldn't be doing this."

"Trust me, baby. Tell me I can do this instead," Danielle reaches to grab Haerin by the waist. Her thumb caresses the little bump.

"I hope you keep yourself and our baby safe out there. I won't imagine the worst thing that can happen," Haerin keeps her smile on and grabs Danielle by the shoulders. She gives her wife a kiss before pulling away to carry the duffel bag on her right shoulder.

"Let's go," Haerin takes Danielle's hand and they leave Haerin's room.

The event starts at 2pm, so they have to go there early to warm up. Danielle drives them to where the event is taking place. Already, the traffic is crowded because people are attending. They found a parking place and got out to go to the back entrance, where they entered for free. Haerin went into a room and told Danielle to stay outside as she changed. Danielle waited until the door clicked and opened, revealing her beautiful wife in a white dress and mask.
