Chapter 11 - Grandioso

Ice from the ground is plunged at the firehead, Andres, creating a wall as it travels, only to be blasted away by a burst of fire.

"You're fighting for them now. Running away from the military was one thing, but now you're with those damned Erebus worshippers! We were supposed to get Kennedy's little brother back, but they won't blame me if I burn down an Erebus worshipper who happens to have an ice sickness. They wouldn't know, right?"

"..."

Andres spoke while swiftly dodging and blowing away the ice that was coming at him with sharp spikes on their tips. Aidan continued to look at him without saying a word, slowly creating the ice on the ground around him with his hands in his jacket pocket.

"Huff, are you going to zone me this entire time?! puff."

Andres seemed tired after the short time that they were fighting, but Aidan seemed just fine.

"Come on, talk already!!"

He shoots another burst of fire, but this one didn't have anything near the power that it did before, nor did it even survive long enough to hit its target.

"Huff puff, I'm not about to lose to an Erebus worshipper that doesn't even have the guts to fight me close range!"

Steadily, fire started to rise from his body, and a yellow glow formed in his eyes.

Moving out of the way of a flying kick from behind, he caught a look at his attacker. As if in slow motion, he looks at his rat attacker like he was looking at a maze.

The red rat flying across the still-burning Andres had a water droplet at his fingertips, ready for takeoff.

The water droplet was shot but immediately evaporated upon getting into his vicinity.

"Right, right, he can melt bullets, so why would I do that?!"

"How are you alive? How did you know how hot my fire can get?"

After Andres asks that question, Genjy looks at him, confused.

I'm with the rat for once. What even happened?! I looked away from him for two seconds.

The two relaxed upon hearing this, me included.

"But because of that, I'm glad that I practiced using my ability. Quite simply, the fire didn't touch me, though it was still hot, so I passed out. I need to work on that. Next time, don't be a dumba*s and leave without checking the body. Actually, do that again when it's me. Anyway, I'm not answering the other question."

Andres was speechless after the explanation from Genjy that managed not to truly answer the question, being so vague as just to say his 'ability'.
