You would like Gojo and Hawks' past as just a memory during dialogue, or maybe describe their past in whole chapters?
If I describe in the dialogues: a quicker end to the story. Just a mention of what happened.
If I write their past (important to the plot of the story and to understanding them): Two more chapters. Description of how Gojo met Geto. What exactly is Geto. Why Gojo and Hawks are brothers. What happened to Hawks' first mate. Why Gojo (will be) overprotective and very careful with people when it comes to the reader.
Honestly, I'm inclined to describe their past in detail because I think it's interesting...
But I'm asking you, readers, what you want.
