I remember talking about the rendezvous point, visiting it briefly to look around and take in the area in case we needed to leave in an emergency. Its a small town, 8-year-old Pansy's holiday destination. She went with her aunt, who is now dead, and assured us that her parents had never been. Its in Cornwall, about 12 miles from the sea on both sides. We decided that apparating into the town was a stupid idea, so we ended up in a small forest, adjacent to the town. I've been here once before, Pansy apparated us all so we knew where we were going.
"Amara." A distant voice says. My ears are ringing slightly, just enough to drown out the voices around me. Apparating so suddenly has thrown me off balance.
"Amara." The voice is clear now, snapping me out of my trance.
Quickly spinning around, I see Enzo sprawled out on the floor, awake but disorientated. He's lucky he didn't get fucking splinched. Pansy is checking Theos bleeding arm. Mattheo is stood beside me, his hand still firm around my arm.
Draco was the one talking. He's right in front of me, his eyes flickering back and forth between mine.
I pull my arm from Mattheo's grip and Draco pulls me into a short lived hug, before pulling back out quickly and slamming his arms back to his sides.
"That was fucking vile." A look of disgust flooding my face.
"Agreed."
"Never do that again."
"Wasn't fucking planning on." He pauses, then the corners of his mouth twitch up into a smile.
"Amara your arm." Mattheo says from beside me, before pulling my shoulder round to have a closer look.
"It's not that bad, I almost forgot it's there." I strain my neck to have a better look at the open wound.
"Yeah probably because half your nerves have been sliced apart."
I was about to open my mouth to protest, but he must have touched it somewhere because a sharp pain suddenly shoots through my whole arm, tingling my fingertips. Clutching my arm, my knees buckle and I sink to the ground. Mattheo catches me halfway, easing me down the last few inches.
"Amara lay down."
"I don't-"
"Lay the fuck down."
I don't argue back with that one, and let myself fall to the side. The pain shoots up and down my arm repeatedly as Mattheo's healing spell binds me back together. Dark magic of course. I've dealt with plenty of that already. I can't remember the next part.
"Is she awake?" Someone near me stands, I hear the leaves rustling to my left.
"Amara?" A closer voice calls me.
Blinding me, I open my eyes slightly and try to sit up. I've been running on adrenalin and pepper up potions for the past 12 hours and stopping now makes me feel like I've run straight into a fucking wall. I gather the same from the rest of them, everyone is sat down, apart from Pansy who stood up a second ago. Enzo is upright, looking better than he did before. My arm no longer hurts, but it doesn't take long before I realise I cant move some of my fingers.
"It'll wear off, mostly" Mattheo begins. "It didn't go deep enough, I could repair most of your nerves."
"Thankyou." I reply, rubbing my eyes, trying to adjust to the final blinding beams of light. "How long was I out?"
"About 45 minutes." Mattheo replies, his eyes searching mine for any uncertainty. "It's fine, gave us all some time to get our bearings."
"How far is the town Pansy?" Enzo asks.
