I walk into my bedroom, Jay close behind me. The bed sheet from when I ran after Markus is scattered on the floor.

Jay goes to pick it up and carefully puts it back on the bed.

"I like what you've done with the room," he says, his beautiful blue eyes burning into my skin.

"Thanks," I say, blushing, but quickly turn around to close the door. On the other side of the hallway, I see that Markus has closed his door as well.

"Don't worry, Ri. Markus has gone to sleep. He told me he was tired and wanted to get some rest," Jay explains as he sees me looking down the hallway.

Relieved at the sound of that, I close my door, making sure it is locked.

"Why did you lock it?" Jay smiles, curious.

"I am hoping it will keep Jane out for the rest of the night," I laugh slightly, pretty sure that a locked door will not keep a ghost out. But you never know, so the door stays locked.

Jay grabs a pillow from the bed and outs it on the sofa across the room.

"You know you don't have to sleep on the sofa. The bed is probably more comfortable," I tell him, blushing again.

"Are you sure," Jay looks at me closely, as if trying to read me and figure out what I really want.

I nod and start to climb into bed. Jay carefully puts the pillow back on the bed and unbuckles his trousers. I cannot help but stare.

Seconds later, the trousers are on the floor and Jay is lying next to me.

He turns towards me. His face is inches away from mine. My heart starts beating faster again and my breathing accelerates. I try to calm myself.

"I am really glad that nothing bad happened to you tonight. I could never forgive myself," he whispers. There is a moment of silence. I start to bite my lip.

"God, you know you look beautiful, don't you? ... I am really struggling not to kiss you right now," he whispers.

"So why hesitate?" my voice is very quiet and I think Jay can tell that I am nervous. But he clearly hears what I say, because his head slowly moves closer until our foreheads touch. I can feel his warm breath and I can smell his perfume. 'God, this is really turning me on!'

Gently, his lips move towards mine until they lock with mine and we seem to become one. My body is flooded with adrenaline and I feel like I am on cloud nine. We continue to kiss passionately.

"Where have you been all this time?" Jay whispers between kisses.

I smile. I feel like I could ask him the same question.

When our lips finally part, he smiles. "I think that was long overdue, don't you?"

I laugh and give him one last kiss before turning over to get some sleep. But within seconds of turning off the light, I feel Jay's hand grab my side and pull me towards him until his torso touches my back. He wraps his arm around me and gives me a quick peck on the cheek.

"Good night, Ri. Sleep tight and don't worry, nothing will happen to you as long as I'm here. And I promise that I will never leave your side again."

"Good night, Jay", I reply, smiling.

Then there is darkness.
