The next morning, we get up early and head straight to Llandrindod Wells in the hope of finding out more about Jane.

About an hour later we finally arrive in Llandrindod Wells and head to the address on the letters we had found in the house the day before.
"Are we just going to ring the doorbell?" I look confused, as I cannot see us just barging in through the door of some random stranger's house, asking about somebody they may or may not have known.
"It's worth a try," Cedric answers, making his way up the stairs and then knocking on the door, as there is no doorbell in sight. Jay and I are just a few inches behind him, so he can take the lead.
A woman, probably in her thirties, opens the door.
"Hello, how may I help you?" she looks at the three of us crowded in her doorway.
"Hello mam, I have a very important question that I would like to ask you. Do you by any chance recognise this woman?" he pulls the photo of Jane, that we had found yesterday, out of his jacket pocket. "Her name is Jane Williams and she used to live at this address."
"Oh, I am really sorry, but I am of no help at all. I only moved here a few weeks ago and I didn't know the person who lived here before me. Also, I have never seen a woman like this around here before, sorry," she apologises.
"Okay mam, no problem. Thank you for your time," Cedric replies and we make our way back to the car.
"Hang on a sec. I might actually be able to help you just a little bit," the woman calls after us. All three of us immediately turn around.
"I remember hearing from a neighbour that there is a woman living just up the road, who has apparently been living here for ages. Maybe she can be of more help," the woman smiles at us.
"Thank you so much, mam," Cedric smiles back at her as we get back in the car and drive up the road to the house the woman was talking about.

"This must be it. Maybe we'll have better luck here," Jay says, as we get back out of the car and make our way up the three steps in front of the house to reach the door.
Once again it is Cedric who knocks on the door. We wait for a few minutes, but no one opens the door.
Disappointed, we slowly make our way back to the car, when we hear a voice behind us.
"Hello?"
We turn around to see a little old lady standing in the doorway.
"Oh, hello. Sorry, we thought nobody was home," Jay apologises.
"Well, as you can see, I am no young lady anymore," the old lady laughs. "How can I help you?"
"We were wondering, if you know this woman," Cedric shows her the photo of Jane once we are back at the front door.
"Why yes. That is Jane Williams. Oh, she was such a lovely young lady, full of energy and always in a good mood. Are you relatives?" the woman looks delighted to see the photo.
"No, not exactly. But we would really like to know more about her," Cedric smiles at the old lady.
"Well, you'd better come in then, ey," she smiles back and leads us into the living room. "Tea anyone?"
"That would be lovely, mam," Jay replies politely, as she makes her way to the kitchen to put the kettle on.
