"Savannah Alice Longbottom, if you don't get down these stairs in ten minutes, I shall send a spell to force you out of bed, do I make myself clear young lady?" Gran yelled from downstairs. I sighed loudly and replied "Yes Gran." before climbing out of bed and dragging myself to the mirror opposite me. I grabbed my hairbrush and started sorting out the tangles of my dark brown hair one by one as my midnight blue eyes stared at my reflection. I then ran downstairs to find my twin brother, Neville, already eating his breakfast. Neville had slightly darker hair than I but we shared the same goofy grin. "Eat your breakfast please, dears, we need to leave for the station soon, have you two got everything packed?" Gran asked us both. We nodded. Twenty minutes later we all travelled to King's Cross. Soon, we reached platform 9 3/4 ready to catch the red and black Hogwarts Express. Steam puffed out of the top, signalling that it was leaving soon. "Right take care of each other and do your parents proud, for merlin's sake, behave, I'll see you in the holidays. Savannah, owl me when you've been sorted my love. Farewell." Gran stated before hugging is both and watching us board the train.
We found a compartment after ten minutes where a girl was sitting alone. "Hi. I'm Luna Lovegood. Are you first years too?" She wondered. Her light blonde hair hung in curls and her bright eyes were piercing into ours. "Yes. This is my twin Neville. I'm Savannah Longbottom." I answered. She nodded and shook our hands, at her touch, Neville's cheeks turned a light shade of pink. Luna told us stories of all these wonderful creatures and legends throughout the journey. I was starting to become really good friends with her. "I hope we're in the same house, Savannah, I enjoy your company." Luna admitted. I agreed and nodded. The train then halted to a stop. After travelling across a huge lake, we arrived at Hogwarts itself. We were led into the grand Great Hall for the sorting ceremony. Hundreds of current students stared at us. One by one, an old witch, Professor McGonagall called us up to the front to have a hat placed on our heads. "Neville Longbottom." She said. I squeezed his hand for encouragement as he walked up to the front to sit on the chair. "I see bravery hidden under the shy perception of you, yes, lot's of courage and a pure heart... GRYFFINDOR!!" It announced. Neville grinned and joined the third table in the room. "Shannon Longbottom." She called out after a while. Nerves settled in my stomach as I sat on the chair. "Hmmm, interesting. I see incredible intelligence and individually, yes, but there is a lot of bravery, courage and adventure in your heart. Therefore, I will place you into... GRYFFINDOR!" I beamed happily as I skipped to join my brother and my fellow house who were cheering loudly. A few more people were sorted until it came to Luna. "Luna Lovegood." McGonagall announced. Luna sat down, it was clear by her eyes that she had entered her dream world. "Strong intelligence I see, mixed with a strong sense of originality and acceptance. There's only one true house to put you... RAVENCLAW!" Luna smiled at first but gave me a sad look before joining her house. Although we were separated, I was sure that we were going to really good friends no matter what.
