Whenever I had free time away from Seamus and everyone, I wrote to Tom. He made me feel comfortable in an unusual way. "Tom, you understand me in a way that Seamus can never do. I can tell you absolutely anything in the world, and you'll listen. That really means a lot to me, truly." I admitted to him. His reply made me happy. "You understand me too. You're beautiful and not judgemental in any way. I'd be lost without you. I wish I wasn't just a memory so I could hold you..." He had fallen in love with me, it was clear. "Me too..." I simply replied before shutting the diary and practising new spells. "Hey. Have you heard about Justin Finch-Fletchley and Sir Nicholas?" Hermione wondered as she approached me. "No I haven't, why?" I answered. She sat down beside me and straightened her skirt. "They were petrified. Thing is, Justin fell out with Harry today remember because they discovered he was a Parselmouth during duelling club? Well, everyone's convinced he's the heir of Slytherin." She explained. I felt sick to the stomach. People had finally got hurt. "That's ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. Harry would never..." I stated back. She nodded in agreement. "We'll prove them wrong." She smiled reassuringly. I nodded and sighed deeply when I was left alone again.
A few days later, Harry was chased by a bewitched bludger during his Quidditch match against Slytherin and it resulted in him breaking his arm. Lockhart decided to help, earning Harry a loss of all his bones in his arm so he was immediately admitted into the hospital wing. The same day, Colin Creevey was petrified. More and more people were getting hurt and I felt awful. However, I still made the effort to speak to Tom. I was still mesmerised by him, it was hard to hate him, well it was, until he turned my world upside down three days later. Harry was cured in time for his match, however, it was cancelled and me, Ron and Harry were summoned by Professor McGonagall. We followed her into the hospital wing. Penelope Clearwater was another petrified victim, but my heart sank at the victim next to her. "Hermione... no..." I whispered weakly. Ron squeezed my hand. She was found in the library with a mirror in her hand. I now felt guilty, upset, it was all my fault. "Sorry, I just need a minute." I said to Ron and Harry before running out of the room to pull out the diary. "Tom, you hurt my best friend! How could you? You've turned my world upside down!!!" I stated. "I told you Mudbloods would get hurt. She has filthy blood. It was coming to her. You're the one who helped me open the chamber." He answered. I slammed it shut furiously and sobbed, feeling my heart break.
Harry came out and sank down beside me. "I don't think it's just Hermione that's upset you, there's something else. Care to tell? I hate seeing you so broken. You're not the same person Savannah." He inquired gently. "It's about the chamber. I-I-I..." I started before I saw Tom staring at me, anger flooding his face. "I'm just upset about all the attacks. Excuse me." I quickly said before following Tom. He lead role the corridor where I had the previous message written. He whispered to me to write something else, his voice was harsh and frightening. "If you do not come along, I will kill your brother with you. You are to be punished now." He explained cruelly as I finished the message. I nodded. "Leave the diary here. Come with me." He said. I nodded once more and dropped it to the floor in Moaning Myrtle's bathroom and followed him down into the chamber, feeling fear about the words I had just written in blood: "Her skeleton will lie in the chamber forever." As soon as we got to the chamber, everything went black as my body felt weak, cold and numb. Tom had gained strength and power.
