It had been a year and an half since the battle of Hogwarts and I was sitting in my small cottage in Scotland with Harry when I received a letter from Neville. It read: "Dear Savannah, I hope you and Harry are well. St Mungo's have contacted me, mum and dad are starting to remember things! Can you believe it? They've urged us to see them, they may remember having us! Meet me there at 2pm. Lots of love, Neville (and Luna) x" I was in shock. It had been a month since Neville and I had visited and they had been the same as usual. Our mother still gave us sweet wrappers, which we all kept. If they truly remembered us, my life would be complete. "Harry! We need to go to St Mungo's! Neville got a letter and he said that my parents have asked for us!" I called. Harry ran in and he was grinning. "That's amazing news. Fingers crossed!" He said. I nodded and took his hand before we apparated.
Neville and Luna met us on mum and dad's ward with the Healer that contacted him. "Hi Miss Longbottom, Mr Potter. As I told Mr Longbottom and Miss Lovegood here, your parents have been doing really well since their progress. However, it's best if you see them one after the other. We thought that you could see your mother first, your father is sleeping but he should be awake soon no doubt. Are you ready?" She asked. We nodded. I suddenly felt nervous but having Harry's hand holding mine in reassurance made me more relaxed. We stepped behind the curtain. My mum was still so beautiful. Beside her bed were piles of newspapers of the most important news from the last eighteen years. Harry's face was on the front of the most recent with the heading "Our Saviour- now training to be an auror." Mum looked at me, then at Neville and smiled. She then started to cry. I thought she was having an episode, but I was wrong. "I do apologise my sweethearts. I'm just so overwhelmed. You're all grown up and you've left school and I missed all of that." She sobbed. I beamed and she held out her hand to me. I took it gladly. "Savannah, look at you. You're so beautiful and so brave. My little girl now engaged I heard. Wow. And Neville, my boy, you're so like your father, brave, tall, handsome. I'm so proud of who you've both become." She smiled. We started crying too, we really did have our mother back. "You must be wondering how this all happened? It was a dream. I saw two bubbly one year olds smiling at me. I then saw you when you visited to me and your dad and it all fitted together. I remembered. I had to see you. Your dad had the same dream, it was a miracle, I don't know how or why, but only feel normal again, as if I am eighteen years younger and still an auror." She explained. I couldn't believe it. "It's incredible!" Neville gasped. She held her hand on my cheek and sighed. Our dad then joined us.
"Neville? Savannah?" He whispered. We nodded. He shuffled over towards us and hugged us both. It had the kind of warmth that it imagined it would always have. "What you've done for the years we haven't been here is honourable. You've made us so proud. You truly are our children." He told us with pride. Neville and I have never felt so happy. "Healer, when can we come home?" My mum asked. The Healer thought about it. "We will track your progress for a week, including how you handle the outside. But it's looking good. It really is a miracle." She answered. This was the best day of my life so far. My dad went over to mum and kissed her, they looked as happy as they did on their wedding photos. My mum still had her short dark hair and warm smile and dad still had his slight quiffed hair and a caring smile. Neville and I hugged them both before saying goodbye to them.
