Sophia.
"Thank's Lily, I appreciate the offer, but I already ordered everything I'll need." I answered, checking on Jax to make sure he was still playing nicely with Alvin. The two have been inseparable all morning. Watching Jax be so comfortable here was relieving. It took one problem off my list of problems, letting me focus on the others, which was me. I was still unsure of my place here. Who am I here? In Maddox's house, arms, and life, am I still the same Sophia he met months ago, or am I someone new? Someone I don't know, but kind of like...
Right now, I was at the kitchen counter talking to Lily over the phone. She's being very kind and offering me her entire closet since technically I don't have any clothing right now other than what I was wearing last night. Of course, I thought that through already. If we were leaving for the weekend I'll need outfits, so, I placed an order with Nordstrom for both Jax and I. Maddox, being Maddox couldn't take no for an answer when I said he couldn't pay and called the store, demanding they charge his card. And what guess... I put a two-thousand-dollar charge on his credit card. He grinned about it, "why not more?" Was what he had to say. Do I feel bad? No. My choices were limited here considering my house has been staked out all night by the paparazzi. And Maddox's sly grin when he won this little argument made me forget why I cared to begin with.
The media has blown my new relationship out of proportion. If I'm being honest, I'm happy to get away for a few days, probably why I so quick to agree. I need a few more days where its just Maddox and I, before the whole world starts to have an opinion on everything involving us.
Background noise filled Lily's end, people shuffling around like busy bees. She was already in Abu Dhabi, supporting Ash, he's number one fan. I could hear all the loud engines roaring to life, mechanics with their equipments and people shouting. "Yeah, of course," Lily responded over the mess, "just putting the offer out there."
It was kind, almost unbelievably kind. But Lily's become somewhat of a friend to me lately. After the breakup, she checked in multiple times, kept me updated on Maddox mental health, and even came over to meet Jax. It took Jax a second, but he warmed up to Lily soon enough. Of course, the bags upon bags of toys she brought with her totally helped. We went on a few coffee dates, and even on a shopping spree. Safe to say Lily's my first true friend. "Thanks." I responded, unsure of what else to say. What do people say to those that without understanding it, or knowing kept you going? Thank's seems insufficient.
"Aster just texted me and said she can grab that order for you, so you don't have to stress with the media presence. Just text her the order numbers. I'll send you her number right now. I have to go; I'll see you when you get here! Tell my brother I said hi, hi, and happy Maddox day. Oh, and good luck on your very first kitchen meeting. Expect it to be extra dramatic, and don't take anything to the heart. I's got to go. Ash's waving me over to say good luck before he goes out into his final practice."
