Raygel's POV

Three days after my stupid talk with Herobrine, I had settled into a routine of isolation in my room. Only Kitty, Skylar, Seto, and Lizzie knew where I slept. I wasn't a very social person in general, and I wasn't sorely missed. I occupied my time by writing in journal about everything that I remembered. During the few times that I dragged myself out of bed to socialize, I noticed a change in the overall mood of the castle's new residents. Relief to be alive faded into fragile peacefulness. Some were even talking about venturing out to see if there was anyone else alive. Very few people wanted to go back into their small groups and homes; It was more dangerous to go alone and more lonely. At the moment, we seemed to be the only people around for many chunks.

I was grabbing a snack from the kitchen when Kitty approached me. "Hey," she greeted me. I smiled at her, but she didn't smile back. My smile faded into concern.

"Hi..." I replied. "What's wrong?" Kitty took a deep breath before speaking.

"Herobrine keeps demanding to see you. He doesn't want to talk to anyone else," she explained. "Raygel, what's going on?! Jordan told me that you were there when he first woke up. What happened between you two?" Her words came out in a nervous rush, as if she wasn't sure whether she wanted to hear the answer or not.

"We talked..." I trailed off, uncertain of how much I should say, "and I may have said some things I probably shouldn't of."

"What did you say?"

"Well, we started out by talking about why I'd spared him, but I couldn't give him a straight answer. And when he asked me what I wanted from him, I may have mentioned that my missing memories bothered me..." I reported, rolling my eyes.

"Were you actually expecting him to help you?" Kitty questioned.

"No, not really," I admitted.

"Then why did you mention it?"

"I don't know, I guess I was just rambling. I was tired and kind of stressed out, so... I may have just needed someone to talk to and he happened to be there?" I ended my response as a question because I wasn't sure.

"Why did you even go down there in the first place?" I was tempted to ask her why she was interrogating me, but I knew she was just trying to look out for me. I shrugged.

"When I was exploring, I guess I wandered off." Kitty studied my expression as if she was trying to sense a lie. Finally, she nodded.

"So, are you going to talk to him?" She asked.

"I guess I have to, right? If he's going to keep bothering everyone?"

"Alone?"

"Yeah, if he's been asking for me then that might be best."

"Alright. But be careful, alright?"

"Yeah." I smiled at her in a way that I hoped was reassuring and not a grimace. I was not looking forward to this talk at all. Herobrine couldn't physically hurt me when he was locked away, but I was mentally and emotionally vulnerable. So, she lead me back to the dungeons and left me at the top of the stairs. The guards on duty, Ethan and Jacob, waited at the top as well, so I was left to be alone. As I descended the steps into the dim light of the cells, I felt a sense of unease, but I wasn't sure what I had to be afraid of. Herobrine was waiting for me while sitting on his bed and staring into space. He stood when he saw me, and I couldn't read the strange expression on his face.

"Raygel..." He greeted me. I raised one eyebrow.

I greeted him a similar, but very cold, manner. "Herobrine. What do you want?"
