A/N: Hey, guys! I was really excited to write this chapter! I made it longer to make up for my recent lack of updates! I hope you like it, comment below <3

Mystery POV

"Hey!" Somebody shouted. Jacob slashed at one rider with a wordless roar of anger. The horse reared and stuck out with its hooves, catching Jacob on the forehead. The wound wasn't deep but blood flowed at an alarming rate, as was common with head wounds. The rider fell from the saddle. As Jacob retreated, Mason took his place and tried to attack the rider.  I could see now the fallen rider looked like the girl the boys had described. There was a boy and another girl, but I didn't have a chance to study them. They were shouting, trying to figure out what was going on.

"Stop!" I heard Kitty yell and glanced in her direction. She stood in from of the fallen girl, an iron sword shakily pointed towards Mason.

"Get out of my way!" Mason snarled, easily knocking her sword out of her hands. Kitty took a step back, but didn't move away. She had a determined look to her face, as if she was willing to die for her cause. And she probably would, unless I intervened. She had no fighting skills, and Mason seemed to be beyond mercy and sense at this point. I was torn. I didn't have enough information to figure out which side was right. The boys wanted to kill the girl for killing Noah, obviously, but Kitty was desperate to protect her for some reason. I had to find out why, and the girl could always be punished later.

My decision was made within a few seconds. I would help Kitty. Mason was about to lunge at her when I quietly came up behind him. I used the hilt of my sword to quickly hit him in the temple. He fell to the muddy ground, unconscious.

"Mason!" Ethan yelled, too late to warn his friend. I spun around to face Ethan and Jacob, who I knew would be coming. Mason was easy to take care of because he had been taken by surprise, but I knew Ethan and Jacob were both strong fighters.

"Stop fighting!" The boy rider, who was still on his horse, tried to get our attention.

"What's going on?" The girl rider, who was also still on her horse, tried to make sense of her surroundings. The battle was fast-paced, almost impossible for an onlooker to follow clearly. I noticed the fallen girl seemed to be unconscious, until I saw her sit up and rub her head.

"Jacob. Ethan. I don't want to hurt you." I said, trying to get through to them. I really didn't want to have to hurt them, and they knew that I could. Ethan paused, wavering. "We can talk about this." I added

"Who's that?" Ethan suddenly asked, pointing to the left. At the same time, the air seemed to drop in drastically temperature.

"What-?" My question was cut off by a blast of cold air as I turned to look. I couldn't move or speak. What was going on?! Any attempt at movement was met by pain.

"Herobrine," Kitty breathed next to me, voicing my thoughts. Maybe she wasn't affected by this cold for some reason, but how did she know who he was? The most identifiable features of Herobrine were his famous glowing white eyes and the evil smile on his face. He laughed at our helplessness.

Raygel POV

The temperature plummeted and the sounds of yelling suddenly stopped. The resulting silence was unnerving. It was like everything had suddenly frozen in time. All because of a man that I instinctively recognized. His glowing white eyes seemed to mock me. Herobrine. Where was Notch now? Shouldn't he be giving me some kind of advice?

"Herobrine," I heard someone identify him. I looked over and saw my protector, the one who had tried to defend me first. She looked... like me. Who was she? I felt like I should know her but... I just couldn't grasp the memories that slipped away like melting snowflakes. Herobrine laughed.
