Also, send my Youtubers you would like added through the comments below or PM. Thanks for all the support and understanding, guys <3 Now that I'm done with my updates and ranting for ya'll, let's get on with the story shall we?

Raygel’s POV

I woke as sun’s dying rays streaked the sky in shades of color from blood red to fiery orange. A light breeze ruffled the leaves of the trees and the sound of animals sounded in the distance, but something wasn’t right. Something felt wrong. A shiver raced along my spine and the back of my neck tingled with unease. I stood up slowly, an axe in my hand. I shook my head, trying to clear the cobwebs of sleep from my mind.

Suddenly my muscles tensed as I heard footsteps. Not just one pair of footsteps, but several.  They were close by and there was no effort being made to conceal them. Could it be Seto or Lizzie, looking for me? I briefly considered calling out but decided against it. It was too dangerous, considering Herobrine’s recent hatred for my companions and I. As an alternative, I crouched in the shadow of a large oak and peered around its wide base.

“Ethan? Kitty? Where are you?” Somebody called into the darkening forest, their voice hoarse from hours of yelling. Why were they looking for Kitty? Was Ethan one of the boys that had tried to kill me? I climbed into the tree for a better view. Finally, I could see. Even though leaves obscured my vision, I could see three boys. One wore a red and black shirt, one wore what looked to be a black jacket, while the last one was covered in brown fur like some kind of animal. They called out yet again and I decided to answer.

“Who are you?” I asked, my voice echoing. They looked around, but couldn’t see me from my position. They pulled out what looked to be two iron swords and an axe.

“Come out!” The boy in the red and black shirt shouted.

“Who are you?” I repeated, my axe ready. They seemed to figure out that I was in the treetops and turned to face me. I felt like I knew them from somewhere, but I wasn’t sure. The memories slipped just out of my grasp. They didn’t answer and instead looked ready to fight me. I shifted slightly, balancing my weight evenly.

I paused when I heard the rustle of a bush to my left. I glanced into the darkness and saw several blood red eyes studying me. I yelped as the spider launched itself at me with a hissing sound. I flung myself backward, impaling the spider at the same time. I landed on the edge of a tree branch and wobbled precariously for just a moment before tumbling to the ground, right in front of a waiting zombie. It groaned as I pushed myself to my feet, wincing at my healing injuries. I easily maneuvered close enough to cut off its head, dodging its flailing arms. I took the moment of reprieve to study the scene around me.

The three boys had zombies and skeletons attacking them and bodies littered the ground around them. I could tell they were formidable fighters.  I leapt into the battle, first taking out an annoying skeleton. I slashed at zombies and they crumbled at my feet. I’d only taken out two more zombies before blinding pain exploded in my head. I stumbled backward, clutching my forehead, and fell to my knees.

“Dammit, Herobrine! Stay out my head!” I growled, trying to push the pain into an unnoticed corner of my mind.

Calm down and breathe. Notch spoke for the first time in days, trying to reassure me. I took a deep breath, letting the cool night air fill my deprived lungs. Gently, the pain receded and my vision cleared. Next, the sounds of battle filled my ears once again. My eyes snapped open as a zombie tumbled to the ground next to me, impaled by the boy in the red and black shirt.

“Are you alright?” He asked, his eyes wide with adrenaline from the fighting. I nodded and knocked back a hungry spider.

“I’ve never seen so many mobs at once!” The boy with fur exclaimed once the last of the skeletons had been slaughtered.

“Yeah, you can blame Herobrine for that,” I panted, a relieved smile unconsciously touching my lips. We’d killed the mobs! We were alive! I had no clue who these people were, but we were alive.

“What’d you mean?” The boy in the black jacket questioned. I silently cursed myself and chose not to answer.

“Who are you?” I asked finally, returning to my original intent. At least now I knew they wouldn’t kill me, they’d had plenty of opportunities while we were fighting to leave me to die.

“My name’s Mitch,” The boy in the red and black shirt introduced himself.

“I’m Jerome,” The boy with the fur greeted me.

“And I’m Ian,” the last boy introduced himself.

“You can call me Raygel,” I said. “It’s dark, so you can stay at my place for tonight.” They agreed and I quickly led them back. We didn’t encounter anymore trouble along the way. Finally, I opened the front door to let them in. Many surprised faces greeted me and my new group.

“Raygel! Where’ve you been?” Lizzie exclaimed, immediately jumping on top of me.

“Mitch? Jerome? Ian?” Kitty looked confused. “How’d you find us?” I detangled myself from Lizzie and smiled at my sister.

“Good, Kitty, you’re awake. How’re you feeling?” I asked, but my question went ignored among the chaos that burst in the room the moment that the three boys that had tried to kill me entered the room. People shouted greetings to each other and tried to figure what they’d missed. It was a mess. I backed to the edge of the room and rubbed my head wearily, already sick of the noise.

“Is another headache coming?” Seto asked.

“No, no, I’m fine,” I answered and proceeded to tell him everything that had happened in the forest.

“So Herobrine isn’t out of commission?” Lizzie summarized from behind me. I nodded in agreement with a heavy sigh.

“What am I supposed to do about this? I just keep dragging people into this stupid mess.” I sighed.

“Keep fighting.” Lizzie suggested. “Don’t let Herobrine control you.” I looked away, wishing I could do that. But I couldn’t keep fighting forever.
