A/N: Wow. Chapter 38 - that's long. Anyway, on with the story I guess. Sorry for delays.
Seto's POV
I sat up with a start and rubbed my eyes. The lights around me were burning low and someone had placed a blanket over me - probably Lizzie. I yawned and stretched. I must have fallen asleep. Next to me, the orange book I was reading was set aside and bookmarked. Morning light was leaking through the large windows. I forced myself to get up and quietly head towards the kitchen. I found myself a few pieces of bread and an apple, and I began to munch. I heard footsteps as I finished my food.
"Hey," I lazily greeted whoever it was.
"Hey, dood," Jerome replied. "Have you talked to Ant or Lizzie yet?" I turned around curiously.
"No, why?" I asked.
"They had something they wanted you to investigate. I guess Ant had an idea or something. I didn't really understand all the talk about tiny blocks called pixels, but I guess you might." Jerome explained.
"Alright, I'll go meet them, then," I said. They would most likely look for me in the library. "See ya."
"See ya, Seto," Jerome called after me. Sure enough, I ran into Ant outside the library.
"Oh, hi!" He greeted me. "I was just looking for you."
"Hello. I know, Jerome told me. So, what was it?" I sat down and asked him to explain.
"Well, you know how you talked about pixels? And how some things were made of them and others were made to look like them?" Ant began to explain. I nodded. "Well, I was thinking about it. If both people and the necklace aren't made of pixels, then they may have come from the same place. Kind of like how Sky's and my amulet probably came from the same place, because of the appearance and different pixels compared to a lot of things from here." I let his words sink into my mind. Yes. That does make sense. I found myself nodding. It was quite observant, actually. I never would have even thought about it.
"Hmm," I mused, scanning the books littered around me.
"Do you think you can find anything?" Ant asked.
"Perhaps," I answered. "If I can find the books I'm looking for."
"What do they look like?" He questioned. I looked up in surprise. Was he actually offering to help me?
"Well, one is red with iron trim. Another one is covered in lime cloth. And the last one that might be of use is so old that it's yellow with worn brown lettering," I listed. Few people could read, so I gave him visual descriptions instead. I looked at the books scattered on the tables around me while Ant went to look at the books Lizzie had managed to put away.
"I think I found one!" Ant called. "'Myths and Legends of Minecraft?'" More surprises from Ant; I guess he could read.
"Yep," I called back. I searched next to a chair and found the red one. 'Origins and Basics of Minecraft'. "Found the red one," I announced.
"Oh, here's the last one!" Ant yelled from further back. "'Theories of Players'? Players, as in normal people?"
"Yes," I answered. Ant brought back the books and placed them down gently. If I remembered right... I flipped through the red book to the origin story. No one knew what the first days were like before players arrived - players being the people who didn't seem to belong. Villagers didn't have a written or oral history, and none of the mobs seemed to even speak to each other. The story recorded in this book was the most accepted by scholars - not that there were many of those. Most people couldn't even read.
