Skylar's POV

Seto sent another burst of magic energy at Dougal, but, this time, he was unaffected. The sound of evil laughter echoed through the battlefield. He forced everyone away from him with a ring of black magic.

"Did you really think that you could defeat me?!" He challenged. "I rule this world! I control everything!" As if to prove his point, he pointed towards the person next to me - Mitch. Mitch froze, seemingly unable to move.

"Mitch!" I cried out in worry. Dougal's attention turned towards me, but Mitch was still unable to move. I see his magic wrapping around me, trying to break down my shields. My eyes widened. His magic was doing was similar to Herobrine's actions when we fought. That meant that I could resist him! However, Dougal wasn't Herobrine.

I realized for the first time that I could use my abilities. The only person that the shadows allowed access was Herobrine. I readied my sword and ran forward at a speed much faster than a normal sprint. As I moved, black shadows began to form around my body. I was moving too fast to even be seen. Seto, apparently knowing what I was doing, created a combination attack with the other magic users. The attack blasted into Dougal with greater force than anything seen up to that point.

He had no time to recover as I my blade was thrust into one of his gleaming green eyes. He roared in pain, and he swatted me away. I was thrown against an obsidian pillar and landed painfully on the hard ground. Still, though, the attack continued. Mitch had been released when I hurt Dougal, and he led the charge as everyone attacked with everything they had. Even the Ender Dragon swooped down and took out his other eye. They sent one more combined magical attack, and, suddenly, Dougal burst into familiar pixels.

I sighed in relief. He was dead. The pixels tried to reform, but Seto stopped them with a spell. They finally dispersed, and a tired cheer of victory filled the air. I smiled to myself. Everyone would be safe now. My blood had begun to pool around my weak body. My wounds were most likely too severe to heal, especially when Seto was weakened. If this was the end of my story... at least I became a heroine. I closed my eyes.

"Skylar, hang in there! SETO!" Mitch's voice roused me. He sounded so worried that I had to open my eyes, despite how much it hurt to become fully aware again. He was holding me, while blood stained his clothes, and tears rolled down his face. It broke my heart to see him so... sad.

"Don't... cry..." I whispered. Mitch looked at me in surprise. His brown eyes were still filled with tears, but there was a new hope in them.

"Save your strength," Seto ordered. "Don't speak." I smiled gently. Seto put a hand on my forehead. Glowing blue light covered my vision, and then darkness.

Raygel's POV

After the battle, we set up camp in Notch's underground home. Almost everyone was injured, and we needed to recover. It had been two days already, and I had too much time to think. I sat in my room, staring at the ceiling.

It was hard to tell what the implications of Dougal's death were. Could we finally go home? How? What would things be like? Would we all get our memories back? After Dougal's death, I had regained my blocked memories. However, It was hard for me to know that status of anyone else. As soon as possible, I had locked myself in my room. No one had come to bother me yet, but I knew that wouldn't last long.

I curled up beneath my blankets. I should be happy, but... for some reason, I felt like crying instead. So much had changed so quickly. So many people had been hurt because of me. I wished that none of this had happened in the first place. I clutched my pillow to my chest and closed my eyes. Maybe, if I could sleep...

The door to my bedroom banged open. I didn't react. I already knew who it would be. I knew she would find me eventually.

"Raygel!" Kitty yelled. I flinched and burrowed further under the blankets. A hand touched my shoulder gently, and someone sat at the end of my bed. I peeked out to see Herobrine over me and Notch on my bed. "What's wrong with you?!" She yelled.

"Kitty, you're scaring her," Notch warned her gently.

"I... don't know..." My response was quiet. I heard Kitty's footsteps exit the room and return just moments later.

"Seto, something's wrong with her again!" Kitty explained.

"Kitty..." Seto sighed. "Do I have to do this again?"

"Yes," Herobrine answered for Kitty.

"Fine," Seto said. He approached and gently pushed away the blanket I was hiding under. He felt my forehead, and I saw him jump in surprise. Immediately, his magic wound around me like a new blanket. He was investigating seriously - something must be wrong. I watched him through half-lidded eyes. "R-Raygel... were you injured?" He stuttered.

"Probably," I answered indifferently. "Nothing I couldn't handle, though."

"It is something you can't handle! You should have told me!" He argued. The worry was clear in his voice, and my eyes widened. Was it something that serious? Is that why I felt so... strange?

"Sorry," I mumbled. If I was causing him so much trouble, shouldn't he just leave me alone? I caught myself, realizing that even my thoughts were not my own. Something was definitely wrong with me.

"What is it?" Notch asked.

"It's... Dougal. He infected her. He's still living in her." Seto finally revealed. "He's probably trying to manipulate her."

I wasn't going to hurt you. Now, though, it seems that I have no choice. I heard a voice I'd hoped to never hear again echoing in my head.

Dougal. I identified. I closed my eyes briefly and sighed.

"I hate it when people mess with my head," I said aloud through gritted teeth. Then, the pain started.

"It look like she's going to have to fight the final battle..." Seto finished explaining.

Get out of my head, you freak! I shouted. I tried to put up mental barriers like Skylar had been trying to teach me, but they were blown aside easily. Dougal laughed at my futile efforts.

"C-can't we help in some way?" Kitty asked desperately.

"I doubt it," Seto answered.

"But you don't know, do you?" Herobrine asked. Seto shook his head. "Then, let's try. Help me." He held out his hand to Kitty. She took his hand hesitantly. Notch grabbed her other hand. Seto hesitated, but joined nonetheless.

I could feel the flow of magic into my body, giving me strength. I put up more barriers, and, this time, they stayed up. I created walls in my own head against the invader, until he was finally trapped. He struck out like a cornered animal, bringing more pain, but I endured it. With the help of my friends, I was strong. I wasn't about to let him beat me. I may be tired, but this was my fight. I battered him with attacks, weakening him bit by bit until he was on the verge of collapse.

Please! Don't kill me! I can fix everything! He pleaded.

You can't fix the past. That's not how it works. I responded coldly as I dealt the final blow. You are not a god. The sound of his scream was agonizing. It felt like my head was threatening to split apart. Physically, I pushed Herobrine away. I wasn't going to let them get hurt through the connection where they lent me strength. Mentally, my barriers were broken, but it didn't matter. He has used the last of his energy. He was gone now - forever.

I let out a breath. My muscles finally relaxed, and I was exhausted. I simply wanted to sleep. However, I could see that everyone was worried about me.

"I'm fine now," I assured them. My volume was merely  a mumble, but they heard me. At least, I hoped. Sleep overtook me, despite how much I wanted to stay awake to assure them I was fine.
