Raygel's POV
"We want to go to the End," Kitty announced to the room that was still full of people. The visit to Herobrine hadn't taken long, and I guess they lingered. They knew to wait for us, since we almost always came back to report what had been said downstairs.
"What?" Sky asked. He'd been talking to Ty about something, probably teasing or making a joke, but he looked at us in surprise. The determination in Kitty's eyes showed that she was serious.
"It's the only way we can think of to get answers," Kitty explained.
"But wouldn't it be dangerous? And who is 'we'?" Jordan asked.
"The Ender Dragon didn't attack me the first time I was there," I commented, "so it shouldn't have any reason to do so now. We just want to talk."
"Who is 'we'?" Ant repeated Jordan's second question, which I had been hoping to avoid. They wouldn't like the answer.
Seto spoke up, "The Ender Dragon will probably be threatened by a large party and won't recognize anyone unrelated to Raygel as non-threatening."
"So, they have to go alone?" Lizzie questioned, looking concerned as she motioned to Kitty and I. I glanced behind me into the shadows created by the doorway. Two glowing white eyes emerged as Herobrine opened his eyes. He'd been hiding temporarily, but the time had come for him to reveal his new-found freedom.
"No," He answered Lizzie. I mentally cringed; I knew the reaction to him would not be pleasant. He stepped forward, into the torchlight, and revealed himself to the audience sitting around the large kitchen table.
"H-he's going?" Ian stammered. I nodded.
"I think we should have talked about this before you let him out of his cell," Mason said carefully.
"He could get out anyway," Kylie pointed out.
"I knew it," Noah's voice was rough and low. "I knew you would do something like this."
"He's promised not to hurt anyone," I sighed. It was true - I'd made him swear, even when he rolled his eyes at me. Noah's glare told me that he did not believe me.
The next words to come out of his mouth were barely audible. He muttered, "Liar." I reacted instantly, holding out my arm to block both Kitty and Herobrine from stepping forward. The room fell into a hushed silence; Even the murmurs that accompanied Herobrine's entrance were silenced.
"You promised," I said the words quietly to Herobrine, even as he glared daggers at me. However, he didn't try to push past me, and that was enough for me.
"I didn't," Kitty growled.
"Calm down," I soothed.
"But-!" She tried to protest, but the look in my eyes silenced her. We couldn't fight amongst ourselves when we had bigger problems to worry about.
"Don't worry," I addressed the crowd in front of me. "We're not going there to fight - we just want to find Notch. We shouldn't get in any trouble."
"Plans don't always work out," Ty warned me.
"I know," I chuckled lightheartedly. "I didn't plan to jump into the End Portal the first time!" There were a few nervous chuckles in response to my comment. I tried to smile reassuringly.
"Here, take this," Ant said. I looked at him in confusion as he handed me three... pumpkins.
"Pumpkins?" Kitty's question mirrored my thoughts.
"If you wear them on your head like a helmet, Endermen won't attack you," He explained.
"Huh," I said aloud. "That's useful."
