Look. I have other projects that require my attention. Different crises will undoubtable arise in the days to come. Lastly, the price of freedom is eternal vigilance. Yours. And mine.
Welcome to the flip side, my compadres. Welcome to the flip side.
I leave you then with a brief inventory of what you may see from me in days to come. These are not plans per se. Rather these are vague goals birthed in the last 30 years or so. After all, a proper jailbreak requires a proper sledgehammer! But all I have are all of these little, itty bitty ballpeen hammers...
*SIGH*
I'd best get busy at chipping away this here barrier betwixt and between me and any delusion of "destiny." Besides, this here wall is blocking my scenic view of the future! How rude! :)
By the way, some of my projects get personalized codenames. This allows me to better bookmark them in my memory for future reference.
1: Ravenhawk. An aviation thought experiment.
Status: shelved, mostly.
Required to reboot: A better knowledge of aviation.
Potential applications: military drones, future sci-fi projects.
Probability of success: high.
2: Ice Star. A fusion power plant design based on repurposing decades old technologies.
Status: Shelved. (Too inefficient. Too loud. Material constraints.)
Required to reboot: better fuel injectors. Likely to include the proper application of antimatter.
Potential applications: questionable, uncertain.
Probability of success: estimated as low.
Hoped for outcome: low efficiency nuclear fusion power generation.
[Modified plasma wave accelerators might improve fuel injection, as might positrons (antielectrons) gleaned from some radioactive sources.] 11/26/2023
3: Jet Stream. Idea: a "compact" nuclear fusion power plant suitable for powering maritime vessels -- civilian or military.
Status: ACTIVE
Required for continuation:
A) Studies on how high temperature plasmas respond to dynamic magnetic fields -- as well as static magnetic fields.
B) Better understanding of plasmas, fluid dynamics, dynamic electromagnetism, linear motors, angular momentum, nuclear magnetic resonance, and time-reversal mirrors.
Probability of success: unknown. It seems promising, but perhaps not as compact as I hope.
Goal: The achievement of practical nuclear fusion using the proton boron-11 fuel cycle.
[Note: nuclear magnetic resonance might be far less advantageous than I'd originally imagined. 11/26/2026*] [sic]
*Oops!
4: The "Liquid Crystal Brigade" (LCB). A superhero project inspired by bedtime stories that I told as a child.
Status: inactive.
Required to reboot: simply time and effort.
Probability of success: high.
Overview: An earlier superhero project. A rough draft of a novel based on the team contained amateurish mistakes too numerous to edit efficiently. However, a rewrite, or a more complete retooling, could logically elevate the project to professional quality.
