Within a few minutes, they came upon the monster, who was a grotesque-looking platypus. It rushed at them with an open beak, chomping down on air as people dodged its attacks.

"Weak points... neck, abdomen..." Ji-an was muttering.

Igneel shoved to the front of the group. "I want to fight this one." He opened his mouth, presumably to spit fire, but nothing happened. He frowned at a notification Cale couldn't read. "Come on, I have to earn the skill in this body?"

"Um..." Shik piped up. "Have you ever heard of a Molotov cocktail?"

Damn it, Shik.

[The Devil of Blood and Static is cackling.]

As Shik explained the concept, Igneel snatched the man's sword. He swung it around wildly, catching the platypus on the arm. An arc of blood spurted from the cut, but other than that, the monster was unaffected.

Igneel looked back at Cale, who demonstrated a proper sword slice. Though Igneel pretended to have not looked for help, he did mimic the technique. His attack was much more successful this time, slicing deep into the monster's torso – the skin split open completely to reveal its insides. Blood and organs spilled out from the gash. As its intestines piled on the floor, it stumbled, leaning into the wall and leaving a bloody smear when it finally collapsed.

"Awesome," Igneel said. "Oh, uh, you can have this back." He handed the sword back to Shik, who flicked the excess blood off with a wrinkle of his nose.

They all stared at the corpse for a while before Cale cleared his throat. "Should we head back now?"

"Yeah, but hold on. I got some blood on my shoes and I don't want to walk with sticky shoes." Igneel wiped the blood off his shoes with his shirt, getting some disgusted looks from the others as he did so.

Finally, they headed back. Maybe now they could rest.

They could not rest.

Another monster was waiting for them right outside the station, looking more wolf-like, though warped in strange ways. Its eyes were staring directly at Si-Woo; more specifically, it was looking at Gabang. With saliva dripping from its teeth, it stalked forward.

Si-Woo handed Gabang to Cale. "Hold her please."

Cale cradled her in his hands while Si-Woo pulled out his knife and headed for the monster. When the monster leapt for him, Si-Woo slid under it, using the knife to cut vertically from throat to tail before it could even land. Not only had he completely killed the monster, but he had gut it like a fish while one-upping Igneel.

Before Cale could hand Gabang back, Si-Woo started to stab the carcass viciously, then he chopped it into small pieces. Nobody was brave enough to interrupt.

When the monster was nothing but chunks of flesh and bone in a puddle of blood, Si-Woo stood up with a smile. "I'll take Gabang back now."

"Um, sure." Cale transferred the rat back to her human's hands, which had been wiped of blood right before. Gabang pressed the side of her head against Si-Woo's palm, closing her eyes. She then climbed up his arm and wiggled her way into his pocket.

They were able to enter the station with no further problems. Igneel was pestering them about getting the supplies for Molotov cocktails, also asking about similar tricks. Cale groaned when Shik introduced him to the idea of a hairspray flamethrower.

It was an uneventful trek back to the room they claimed. Instead of playing another game, the others decided to ask Igneel about his experience as a dragon versus Raon's. So far, they had figured out that Raon could taste things while Igneel couldn't in dragon form, that Igneel wouldn't become one with nature if he died naturally where Raon would, and that dragons were typically unsocialized in both Raon's and Igneel's experience.
