Cale let out a shaky breath as he leaned against the wall with Raon in his arms.

He couldn't afford to make assumptions; maybe, maybe it only applied to human incarnations, and what counted as strength anyway? Was it raw strength, battle ability, highest kills?

[The Bright Dawn Garden Dragon wants to know what's wrong.]

Hands trembling, he opened Midday Tryst.

[Cale Henituse: What does the scenario mean by strength?]

[Kim Dokja: What are you willing to pay for that information?]

[Cale Henituse: If you think for one fucking second that I will ever help you again if you don't answer my question, then you might not be the right person to ask.]

[Kim Dokja: Why do you care so much? It probably won't be you.]

[Cale Henituse: The powerful dragon incarnation that is only six years old is my concern, not me.]

There wasn't a response. The others looked at him nervously, not quite understanding the situation, but his panic was clearly stressing them out.

"Human, you have a plan, right?"

Cale didn't have an answer to that. The ideas running through his head at the moment weren't proper plans. He needed to at least know if he would get an answer from Dokja, because if he wasn't, he needed to threaten a dokkabei into answering his question instead.

[Kim Dokja: Will you interfere in my plan for this scenario if I tell you?]

[Cale Henituse: Don't involve my group.]

[Kim Dokja: Fine. It's based on the amount and level of an incarnation's stories.]

Stories? What were those? Cale ran through all the notifications he'd seen, but he didn't see anything about stories. He checked his attributes window, but nothing regarding a story was on there. Noting again how the ancient powers he hadn't used weren't on there, he frowned at the squares that still replaced most of the letters where his abilities from Earth 1 were listed. Well, the ones he'd used. Instant wasn't on there.

Was that related? Or were stories never shown on the attributes window?

[Cale Henituse: What are stories?]

[Kim Dokja: If you don't know what it is, you definitely don't have to worry about this scenario.]

"Raon, have you ever seen a notification that mentioned a story?"

The little dragon put his paw to his chin. "I have not! Was I supposed to?"

Cale's heart started to slow down. Alright, what to do now? Raon wasn't in danger, which made his panic earlier somewhat embarrassing, but that didn't matter right now.

[Cale Henituse: Since you helped me, I might as well remind you that stopping and restarting the heart of whoever it is would probably clear the scenario.]

The monsters would be a larger problem. How powerful were the monsters they would be seeing by the end of the scenario? If he had to fight a lion dragon again, he might just crawl into his fucking spatial pocket bag until the God of Mischief sent them back.

He pulled Raon closer, ignoring the confused wiggling of the sentient reptile. On and Hong piled on top of them, and he leaned into it, relishing in the comfort of having them all safe.

[Several constellations are confused by your behavior.]

[The Black Light of Darkness wants to know what made you calm down.]
