Anna's Apartment
ˢᵘⁿᵈᵃʸ ˢᵘⁿᵈᵃʸ
After their visit from Coen, Anna and Eli stood by the doorway stuck in their swaying embrace until Eli heard soft snores coming from Anna. She found a sense of peace being in his arms, like for once in the last few months she's found a calm. Eli laid her down in her bed and tucked her under the covers, giving her a light kiss on the forehead.
He then went back to the living room and started cleaning up their food and tidying up the couch. He didn't want Anna to have to stress about anything more than she needed to. A feeling of sadness washed over Eli as he sat down on the couch, Mittens joining him.
He knew he couldn't stay in New York with Anna forever, the band only planned to stay for three days before kicking off their North America Tour. It's not like it was last summer when they first met, the band had gained more traction in the later part of the year, they had more fans. Eli rubbed his face in an attempt to get his mind off the subject, he didn't know how he was going to tell Anna. In less than 24 hours, they had managed to become inseparable.
Mittens jumps onto Eli's lap, trying to get him to pay attention to her. As she snuggles into his lap Eli can't help to form a light smile on his face. Admiring all the pictures on the wall, and the knick-knacks on the shelves. They were all so Anna, maybe that's what Eli liked about her. She was colorful and fun, or at least she was when they first met. These days she seems sadder.
Eli checks his watch and decides to head back to his hotel, he finds a piece of paper and writes Anna a note so as to not disturb her from her slumber. He bid goodbye to Mittens and was on his way. The whole walk back to his hotel he had a cheeky smile on his face, blush covering his pale cheeks.
"Eliii?..." Anna had woken up two hours after Eli had left, the sun had fully set by then. She was pleasantly surprised to see a note waiting for her on her bedside table, "Anna, sorry I had to go, it was getting late and I didn't want to disturb you. You always look so at peace when you're asleep. Please call if you need anything. X, Eli"
Anna felt a crimson-red heat overtake her cheeks as she read the note. He cares, she thought. Seeing as it was seven p.m. and she was now wide awake, Anna decided to do some baking. Mittens followed her into the kitchen as she grabbed out everything she needed.
While she was baking she decided to FaceTime her best friend. Beth caught her up on everything going on with her new bookstore and Anna caught her up on everything that's been going on with Eli. She didn't mention Coen, she didn't want to ruin her night by bringing up that situation.
"Anna, you genuinely look so much happier than the last time I spoke to you," Beth says pointing out her best friend's toothy grin. "You think so?" Anna says looking up from her brownie mix.
"I know so A, I'm happy that you're finally speaking to him again."
"I am too Beth! I'm really enjoying all the time we're spending together. With him, I feel safe."
"I'm glad. Listen I got to go, Tommy needs me. But please keep me updated!!!" Beth says looking at her glowing best friend. "I will! mwah, love you." And with that, Anna went back to baking her brownies before sitting on the couch with Muffins.
Anna couldn't help but wonder if this was too good to be true, if Eli was actually interested in her. Maybe he just felt bad for her? Mittens purred in her lap as Anna petted her.
"It's okay Mittens, as long as I've got you and my celebrity crush on Timothee Chalamet, I'll be okay." She says before giving her fluffy cat a kiss on the head and then moving back to her room.
