Anna's Apartment
ⁱᵗ'ˢ ᵗʰᵉ ᵃᶠᵗᵉʳⁿᵒᵒⁿ
Gossip Girl blares from the TV as Anna dances around her living room, vacuuming the floors. She hadn't had many patients only her four regulars so she had the rest of the day off. She had decided she needed a change in her life, so as soon as she got home she went into the bathroom and cut off eight inches of her long auburn hair.
For one she felt lighter, they do say that hair holds memories. That wasn't enough for Anna, so she put on her favorite season of Gossip Girl and got to rearranging her apartment. Anna felt a new sense of happiness recently, and it was all thanks to that Irish lead singer.
Anna's vacuuming gets interrupted by a knock on the door, catching Anna off guard. When she opens the door she's shocked to see her Irish lead singer standing in front of her with red roses in hand. He looked all dressed up like he was going on a date. "Eli?"
"Anna!" The Irish boy has a huge smile on his face as he sees the girl in front of him. "You cut your hair?"
"I needed a change. Please come in." Anna makes room for Eli and moves her vacuum out of the way. "I can tell," The Irish boy says with a chuckle, noticing that her furniture has also been rearranged.
"Oh, these are for you!" Eli says handing her the deep red roses. "For me? Thank you Eli" Anna takes the roses and puts them in a clean vase. "So, is that the only reason you came over here? To hand me these red roses?" A smug smirk forms on Anna's face as she looks back at Eli.
Internally, Anna was freaking out. She hasn't been on a date since she and Bobby went out. She was nervous, that's for sure, but not as nervous as Eli. As soon as he got back to his hotel room he started planning this date. How'd he ask her, what they would do, but most importantly how he would break the news that he's not staying to her.
The other lads got quite worried about him when he wouldn't go down to the bar with them. He stayed stuck in his room. The second the clock turned ten, he rushed to the flower shop closest to her apartment and bought her flowers. He bought the darkest red ones and he made sure to make a reservation at her favorite Italian restaurant, again having Beth help in out on that one.
"I actually wanted to know if you'd like to have dinner with me?" A nervous smile appears on Eli's face as he looks at the glowing girl in front of him. "I'd love to!" She immediately wraps her arms around his neck in a hug, her smile wider than ever.
Eli relaxes and hugs her back, celebrating in his head that it worked out. Eli had made a backup plan if she said no, that backup plan was to give the reservation to the lads. Deep down Eli is really happy that he didn't have to do that.
"Just wait here while I get ready!" Anna happily skips to her room to get ready, making sure to close the door behind her so Eli can't see her twirling around her room. Anna grabs out her nicest winter dress, a white knit dress. She puts her hair in a bun and does her makeup.
While Anna is giddily getting ready, Eli sits on her cream-colored couch quite nervous. For once it feels like Mittens is interrogating him, staring him down from across the room and meowing sassily. He just wants this whole night to go well before he has to break the news to her.
Eli's thoughts were interrupted by the beautiful Anna stepping out of her room. "K, ready to go?" She stands there as beautiful as ever, her deep berry lipstick complimenting her deep brown eyes. Eli doesn't say a word, speechless by how beautiful Anna is.
"uhh...um- Yea! Yeah, let's go." Eli grabs her hand and they are off.
"Can I ask where we're going?" Anna asks with a smug smile on her face as she looks toward the boy beside her. Their hands sway back and forth as they walk in sync through Central Park.
"Nope, it's a surprise." Eli looks at Anna's sparkling eyes, the way they shimmered as the sunset.
On the way to the restaurant, they talked about everything they missed while they weren't speaking. Anna mentioned her older brother Jack getting signed by the Phillies Baseball team which has apparently been one of his lifelong dreams. She mentioned bringing Eli to a game one day which Eli agreed to.
Deep down inside, Eli was freaking out. Bobby had mentioned to him how close Jack and Anna were and he didn't exactly make the best first impression on him. More than that, Eli didn't know if their relationship would last through the tour, they had only started talking again a few days ago. Were they even considered boyfriend-girlfriends yet?
"Eli, you okay?" Eli lifts his sight from looking at the ground to looking at Anna with a smile. "Whenever I'm with you? Yea." A dark blush appears over Anna's tan cheeks, adding to the makeup she already put on.
They soon approach the Italian Restaurant leaving Anna shocked. "OMG How'd you know?!" Anna finds her way into another hug before they head inside. "It's a superpower of mine," Eli says with a smirk on his face as they get seated at their table. Eli made sure to ask for a table in the back, where it's not as crowded.
Throughout the dinner, Eli couldn't stop himself from staring at Anna. He really could imagine spending every day with her and not getting tired. But as the night started to wind down, he could feel his hands start to get more clammy. On the stroll back to Anna's place neither of them said a word, they both were enjoying the company of the other.
"Anna, can we talk..." Eli said breaking the silence, making the content smile on Anna's face disappear. "Uhh...sure..." Eli grabs Anna's hand and drags her to the nearest bench before letting out a breathy sigh.
"Anna I've really been enjoying spending time with you these last 72 hours." Anna could feel her heartbreak start to pick up as Eli spoke. She forced herself to not draw any conclusions just yet and to hold back the tears. "Anna, we both know that the band wasn't gonna stay in New York forever. We're actually going on tour..." Eli scans Anna's face, looking for some kind of tell on how she's feeling.
"oh..."
