Another day, another damn latte.

Joshua sighs as he grabs a clean cup from the rack.

It was a chilly Sunday morning and everyone seems to be in the mood for a hot drink.

Joshua would love to be home, right by his fireplace, drinking some hot chocolate and binging a show. Maybe he could even invite a couple friends, so they can all comment on how bad the character arc is or how the plot twist wasn't even a plot twist anymore.

Unfortunately for him, he's stuck in this cafe till his shift ends, at 6pm.

Joshua is usually one to seem cold or reserved, but after a couple hours at his job, yeah he's done and just wants to get the day over with.

"Latte for Jeon Wonwoo," he calls out. The tall, nerdy guy from a few minutes ago comes up and takes his drink, giving Joshua a slight smile- before leaving.

Joshua watches as the man walks away, putting his arm around another man as they walk out of the cafe together.

"Joshi, you're zoning out again." Said man looks over at his coworker and friend of two years, Jeonghan.

Jeonghan isn't fulltime- like he is- he works at the cafe part-time, while his main job is as a kindergarten teacher. And unlike Joshua's single ass, Jeonghan is engaged.

With a sigh, Joshua goes over to put away some dishes that Jeonghan was washing. "I'm just tired."

Jeonghan frowns slightly and pats his friend on the back. "How about, after this, we go over to my house and-" before Jeonghan could continue, he was interrupted by the sound of a customer hitting the counter bell.

The two friends turn slightly to greet the customer. Jeonghan grins slightly and nidges Joshua, as to tell him that he'll take care of the dishes.

He rolls his eyes, but goes over to take the order. "The usual?"

The amount of times he's had to make this particular cappuccino is sickening. Like- every single day he's had to make it, sometimes twice a day for this guy.

Lee Dokyeom.. He's sick of seeing him at this point. He's tired of seeing his stupid face with his stupid smiles. How can someone even smile so much?

"You know me well, Shua," Dokyeom chuckles softly as he looks at the barista. "It's all you ever have," Joshua mumbles, as he starts working on the cappuccino.

"How's your day going?"

Joshua glares at the taller and tells him that he's holding up the line, even though there was only a couple behind him staring at the menu.

With a slight smiles, Dokyeom moves to the side, letting them go ahead and order.

A few minutes pass by and Joshua is finally done with the order and sets it on the counter, expecting that Dokyeom will take it and set down the money, like usual.

"Hey, Joshua?" He looks up and sees that, in fact, he didn't just walk away. He's standing there, the drink still on the counter, his smile slightly awkward- a bit hesitant.

Dokyeom clears his throat. "Sorry if this may seem sudden," he pauses. "I'm going to a book event on the 18th, if you're interested in tagging along." Joshua is now more confused than ever.

Why would this annoying-

"I'm going too! We'll see you there!" Jeonghan barges into the conversation, as he does and Joshua glares at him.

Unfazed, Jeonghan smiles at Dokyeom, making the other also smile back I'm relief.

"I hate you!" Joshua whisper-yells at his friend as they stand outside the biggest library in Seoul- where the event is taking place.

Jeonghan locks arms with the younger. "No you don't, now come on." He practically drags him inside.

The two look around for a while, when they spot Dokyeom and some other guy talking by the coffee corner.

Joshua tries to turn away, but of course Jeonghan isn't gonna let that happen; pushing Joshua toward the two, before leaving.

Dokyeom turns and looks at Joshua, smiling. "Hey, Shua."

Maybe.. Maybe he isn't so bad..

Joshua mentally slapped himself as him and his regular customer are now making out in his car.

The older pushes away slightly, leaving Dokyeom confused. "Is something wrong?" He asks, pulling away from the other- giving him space.

Joshua sighs and leans back against the car seat. "It's just that.. I don't know what to do.." He trails off, not looking at the man beside him.

"Do you wanna go back to the event then?" Joshua looks back at Dokyeom. He seems so genuine and he isn't being pushy or aggressive, which is the complete opposite of his ex-girlfriend.

It's been a couple years since they broke up, but the effects are still there. It's not like he's completely opposed to everyone, but he's definitely more cautious with relationships now.

He wants to see something different in the man sitting with him, but he doesn't want to feel trapped in a relationship ever again.

Dokyeom's smile fades slightly. "I get the hint," he says before opening the car door. Before he could step out, however, he got pulled back into his car. His eyes widened as Joshua kisses him- kissing back soon after.

Jeonghan smiles proudly as he tells his fiance about how he's a great wingman.

"Jeonghan, you're so full of yourself." His fiance stands up from the couch and walks past him- making the younger pout. "Hey! I'm just happy that Joshua's happier these days."

Seungcheol smiles and kisses his fiance's cheek. "I know, baby." Jeonghan crosses his arms and sticks his tongue out at him.

"Cute."

So cute!

Joshua thinks to himself as he looks over at Dokyeom, who's asleep on his shoulder.

He pulls him closer, hugging him tightly.

Jeonghan, you asshole... Thank you.
