Vernon wiped his hands on a rag, ready to close up the shop for the day when the bell jingled, making him sigh.
A guy in a sharp suit, complete with a corset, stumbled in, breathless.
"I-I'm Seungkwan. My car's acting up, and I need help," he gasped between breaths, barely being able to stand up right.
Vernon, unable to say no, nodded. "Alright, let me take a look." Seungkwan led him toward his Audi, his eyes occasionally stealing glances at the well-dressed stranger.
As Vernon was inspecting the car, Seungkwan seemed nervous and kept fidgeting with his watch as he looked over at Vernon.
"Looks like you've got a busted alternator belt," Vernon explained, his hands skillfully moving around the engine. "I can fix it for you, but it'll take a bit of time."
Seungkwan sighed in relief. "Thank you so much! I have an important meeting tomorrow, and I can't afford to miss it." He smiled at the mechanic.
Vernon smirked, finding Seungkwan endearing. "Don't worry. I'll have it up and running in time."
Seungkwan then took out his wallet. "How much will it cost?" He asked as he pulled out his card.
Taking another look at the damaged belt, he shrugged, "free." Seungkwan chuckled softly, expecting that what was said was a joke. However when he tried handing his card over, Vernon stopped him.
"I'm serious." With a stern look on his face, he pushed Seungkwan's hand away gently. "I can't not pay you." He shrugged again. "It's fine."
Seungkwan looked confused, but ultimately put his card and wallet away. "Well I can't just not give you something in return." He said as he followed the mechanic, who was now going back into his shop.
Not backing down without a fight, Seungkwan grabs Vernon's arm, making him turn to face him. "If you ever need a favor, or just want to grab a coffee, give me a call. I owe you." He said as he slipped his business card in the mechanic's pocket.
As Seungkwan left, Vernon couldn't help but watch him go, a small smile playing on his lips.
Maybe it was his past experiences doing the work for him, but Vernon was never really the one to make a move first. You'd think that with his looks alone it would make him more confident to ask whoever he was interested in out on a date.
He was never the extroverted, confident type. He was always the "I don't talk to people, unless they talk to me first" type.
This made him rely on his quick thinking to make whoever he was interested in to say something first. Which is exactly what he just did with Seungkwan.
He made him want to repay him for doing his job, so he basically just got his number from that and a possible coffee date.
He took the business card and saved the number in his contacts.
Audi cutie
He smiled to himself as he went back into his shop to start on the car.
Yeah he was tired, but hey, if he gets it done earlier, he'll get to go out earlier.

Vernon stood in front of the small café, his hands slightly sweaty despite the cool evening breeze. He adjusted the collar of his jacket, took a deep breath, and pushed open the door.
Inside, the café buzzed with activity. The clinking of cups, the soft murmur of conversations, and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee welcomed him. His eyes scanned the room until they landed on a familiar figure sitting by the window.
Seungkwan, dressed in a more casual outfit, than I suit he first saw him in, noticed Vernon's entrance. He waved enthusiastically, a wide grin spreading across his face.
Vernon's heart fluttered, but he managed a small smile in return and headed over to Seungkwan's table. As he approached, Seungkwan stood up, extending a hand.
"Hey, Vernon! Glad you could make it," Seungkwan said warmly, gesturing for him to take a seat.
Vernon nodded, feeling a mix of nerves and excitement. "Thanks for treating me," he replied, trying to keep his voice steady.
They settled into an easy conversation, discussing everything from cars to career aspirations. Seungkwan's animated storytelling made Vernon laugh more than he had in a long time.
Seungkwan's hand occasionally smacks the other's arm playfully as they laughed together.
Vernon hasn't felt so comfortable around someone in so long. Especially someone he met a few days ago. He didn't know how to exactly feel about that, but he enjoyed Seungkwan and his smile, his pouts- evey now and then- his beauty mark that's under his eye- he's really cute.
The waiter arrived to take their orders. While Vernon got a hot chocolate, Seungkwan ordered an iced americano.
Even the way Seungkwan stirred his drink with the straw, Vernon found himself smiling.
They talked for what felt like hours, losing track of time until the café began to empty, signaling the approaching end of the night.
Glancing at his watch, Seungkwan chuckled. "I can't believe we've been here for so long. Time really flies when you're having a good time."
Vernon nodded, a reluctant smile tugging at his lips. "Yeah, it does."
As they walked out of the café, Seungkwan turned to Vernon with a hopeful expression. "I had a great time tonight. Maybe we could do this again sometime?"
Vernon felt a surge of confidence he hadn't expected. "I'd like that," he said, trying to suppress the grin spreading across his face.
Seungkwan smiled, kissed Vernon's cheek and walked away.
Vernon scratched the back of his neck slightly, smiling to himself as he started walking toward his car.
Get it together, Vernon!
He sighed, content with his little date with his Audi cutie.
Definitely calling him again
He grinned as he took his phone our of his pocket to call his best friend.
"Hey, Mingyu. You won't believe the day I had!"
